PERMANENT INTERMITTENTS. A. A permanent intermittent position or appointment is a position or appointment in which the employee is to work periodically or for a fluctuating portion of the full-time work schedule. A permanent intermittent employee may work up to 1,500 hours in any calendar year based upon Government Code Section 19100 et seq. The number of hours and schedule of work shall be determined based upon the operational needs of each department. The use of the State Personnel Board Rule 277 is one of the many employment alternatives the appointing power may elect to use to fill vacant positions within a competitive selection process.

  • Intermittent Leave 7 Intermittent leave without pay used in lieu of sick leave is not 8 subject to the six (6) month entitlement provided for above. When such leave significantly 9 affects an employee’s job performance and is not subject to the requirements of law 10 (including but not limited to the FMLA), management may evaluate the employee’s use of 11 leave according to the criteria of “Section B.2.c” above. Medical information as provided 12 for in “Section D.1” above may be required for the evaluation. After completing the 13 evaluation management may do one of the following:

  • Permanent Reassignment 1. Any ill or injured full-time regular or part-time flexible employee having a minimum of five years of postal service, or any full-time regular or part- time flexible employee who sustained injury on duty, regardless of years of service, while performing the assigned duties can submit a voluntary request for permanent reassignment to light duty or other assignment to the installation head if the employee is permanently unable to perform all or part of the assigned duties. The request shall be accompanied by a medical certificate from the United States Public Health Service or a physician designated by the installation head giving full evidence of the physical condition of the employee, the need for reassignment, and the ability of the employee to perform other duties. A certificate from the employee’s personal physician will not be acceptable.

  • Permanent Layoff The calculation in determining the six (6) month duration of eligibility for an Employer contribution begins on the date the employee is permanently laid off or accepts an appointment in lieu of layoff without a break in service with a lesser employer- paid insurance contribution than the employee was receiving in the appointment from which the layoff occurred and is no longer actively employed in the appointment from which the layoff occurred. In the event the employee, while on permanent or seasonal layoff, is rehired to any state job classification with a lesser employer-paid insurance contribution than the employee is receiving under the six (6) months of insurance continuation, the employee shall continue to receive the Employer contribution toward the employer-paid insurance for the duration of the six (6) months. However, notwithstanding the paragraph above, in the event the employee successfully claims another state job in any agency and classification which is insurance eligible without a break in service, and is subsequently non-certified or involuntarily separated, the six (6) month duration for the Employer contribution toward insurance benefits will begin at the time the employee is non-certified or otherwise involuntarily separated and is no longer actively employed by the Employer. In no event shall an extended benefit eligibility period be longer than a total of six (6) months. Further, an employee must be receiving an Employer Contribution under Section 3 (A) or (B) at the time of layoff in order to be eligible for the six (6) months continuation of insurance.

  • Permanent Status ‌ An employee will attain permanent status in a job classification upon their successful completion of a probationary, trial service or transition review period.

  • Intermittent Employees On the first day of the monthly pay period following completion of each period of 160 hours or 20 days of paid employment, each intermittent employee in the State civil service shall be allowed one (1) day of credit for sick leave with pay. The hours or days worked in excess of 160 hours or 20 days in a monthly pay period shall not be counted or accumulated.

  • Permanent When an employee is transferred outside the Bargaining Unit at the Employer's request, the employee shall be paid at straight time rates for all time necessarily spent travelling, provided:

  • Classroom Interruptions Classroom interruptions shall be kept to a minimum. Principals shall establish schedules for the use of the intercom services in each school, including staff use. The schedule shall be posted. Deviations from the schedule shall be made only in an emergency or when other means of communication are not possible or feasible.
