Pre- and Post-Observation Conferences. (a) Pre-observation conferences will be scheduled with no less than 48- hours’ notification to the teacher. (b) Pre-observation conferences between the teacher and the evaluator will take place two (2) to three (3) school days prior to the formal classroom observation. Pre-observation conferences prior to a formal classroom observation are private, interactive discussions between the evaluator and the teacher. The discussions at pre-observation conferences will address, but are not limited to, lesson and unit plans, portfolios of student work, student issues, resource needs, and the teacher’s identification of areas in which he or she wishes to receive focused feedback from the evaluator, and other professional practice issues identified by the teacher or evaluator. (c) Each formal observation shall take place when the instructional module and academic subject discussed at the pre-observation conference are to be taught. (d) Post-observation conferences between the teacher and the evaluator shall take place within ten (10) school days following an observation and shall be private. During the post-observation conference, the evaluator will provide the teacher feedback and copies of theTeacher Observation and Coaching Tool” and/or “Observation Rubric” the evaluator completed during the observation. Both the teacher and evaluator will sign and date the Observation Tool and/or Rubric document(s), and the teacher will be provided a copy. The teacher’s signature indicates receipt of the document and not necessarily agreement with its contents.

Pre- and Post-Observation Conferences. 1 The evaluatee and the evaluator shall hold a pre-conference prior to an announced observation. They will discuss the goals and objectives of the lesson to be observed. The evaluatee will have the opportunity to explain factors that would influence the methods or interfere with the objectives. The evaluator has the chance to emphasize the points that he or she will be looking at. The pre-conference should be held as close to the observation day as possible.
Pre- and Post-Observation Conferences. There should be a pre-observation conference not more than a few days prior to the observation and a post-observation conference within a few days following the observation. It is expected that staff members will prepare the observer for the observation. The post- observation conference is designed to provide immediate feedback from the supervisor or administrator. It is an opportunity for staff members and administrators to review the data gathered during the observation and to discuss the data relative to the objectives of the lesson as stated in the pre-observation conferences. The post-observation conference should also focus on the staff member's continued growth or improvement, and recommendations made at this time should be incorporated into the staff member's development plan. Finally, all observation reports will be in written form and signed by the administrator and staff member.
Pre- and Post-Observation Conferences. 8.2.8.1 No later than December 15, a pre-evaluation conference shall be held between the evaluator and the employee to discuss the evaluation cycle, goals, and observations. A pre-observation conference prior to an observation is not required. 8.2.8.2 If a pre-observation conference is held, no form will be required to be filled out by the employee prior to the conference. 8.2.8.3 No standard form will be required to be completed prior to the post- observation conference. Any of the eight minimum state criteria may be addressed during the conference. 8.2.8.4 The teacher being evaluated may request an association representative of their choice be present at the pre and/or post conference, provided it does not result in a delay of the conference.
Pre- and Post-Observation Conferences i. A preconference will be held prior to each scheduled formal observation. The preconference shall be used to provide a teaching staff member an opportunity to display the planning skills used in planning the lesson to be observed. During the pre-conference meeting, the evaluator may solicit among other things, basic information concerning the curriculum and lesson plan to be taught for the future observation/evaluation. This process will be a collaborative process between the evaluator and the teaching staff member. ii. Within five (5) school days and no later than ten (10) calendar days after the formal observation (whether scheduled or unannounced), the teaching staff member and the evaluating supervisor shall hold a post observation conference to discuss the evaluation report prepared by the supervisor. iii. The post observation conference will be conducted for the purpose of, but not limited to, providing a forum for feedback, a reflection on the observation, confirming the accuracy of the materials collected and providing assistance to the teaching staff member whenever the need for such aid is indicated. Sufficient time will be scheduled for a full discussion of the issues involved. iv. Concerning observation/evaluation and final evaluation reports for both non-tenured and tenured teachers, the formal open-ended conference between teacher/supervisor/vice-principal/principal shall be followed by a written summary which will reflect the items discussed during the conference. All parties shall sign this report before the principal forwards it to the Superintendent's office. The signatures will signify that: (a) a conference was held; (b) the items listed were discussed; (c) the signatures shall not necessarily reflect agreement; (d) the teacher received a copy of the report; and (e) the teacher has an opportunity to record a timely disclaimer to the evaluation.

  • Post-Observation Conference 1. The post- observation conference between the evaluator and teacher will be held no later than ten (10) days after the formal observation. 2. The purpose of the post-observation conference is to review the evaluator’s and teacher’s evidence related to the scoring criteria during the observation, and to discuss the teacher’s performance. 3. If there is an area of concern, the evaluator will identify specific concerns for the applicable criteria and provide possible solutions to remedy the concern in writing.

  • Pre-Observation Conference The pre-observation conference shall be held prior to the first formal observation. The teacher and evaluator will mutually agree when to conference. The purpose of the pre- observation conference is to discuss the employee’s goals, establish a date for the formal observation, and to discuss such matters as the professional activities to be observed, their content, objectives, strategies, and possible observable evidence to meet the scoring criteria.

  • Informal Observations A. An informal observation is an observation that is not required to be pre-scheduled. B. An evaluator may conduct any number of informal observations. C. Observations do not have to be in the classroom. For example, department or collegial meetings may be used for informal observations. D. Informal observations may serve as an opportunity for formative feedback. If there are concerns regarding the teacher’s/educator’s level of performance based upon informal observations, the evaluator will document the concern and schedule a time to discuss with the employee.

  • SPECIAL CONFERENCES Special conferences for important matters may be arranged between the Union and the designated representative of the Board upon the request of either party.

  • Meetings and Conferences ‌ From time to time the Government may require attendance at Government conferences and meetings at no additional cost to the Government.

  • Evaluation Conference The final evaluation conference shall occur not later than the end of the fall term. The purpose of the final evaluation conference is to discuss with the probationary employee the results of the evaluation and announce the team’s recommendation. The evaluation team shall determine what additional evaluation activity shall occur during the spring term. If the team recommends that the District not employ the professor for the following year, no evaluation activities in the spring are necessary.

  • Informal Observation Additional evaluation of employees may occur through informal observations by the Employer. It may not be necessary to reduce such evaluations to writing, and a verbal discussion between the Employer and the employee concerning the informal observations may suffice. If a written evaluation is deemed necessary, Procedures C and D as outlined above shall be followed.

  • Formal Observations At least two (2) formal observations per year are required for ancillary staff members in Track I, at least sixty (60) days apart. In the case of a first-year or second-year Track I ancillary staff employee, at least one (1) observation shall be made prior to the ancillary staff employee’s mid- year progress report. Annual evaluations shall include in-room observations of all aspects of the ancillary staff employee’s instructional practice. Observations shall be conducted by the ancillary staff employee’s supervisor. An observation shall be at least one (1) complete lesson, based on the lesson plans provided by the ancillary staff employee. Observations shall be scheduled at least five (5) work days in advance for a three-day window in which the observation would take place. If an observation needs to be rescheduled, the ancillary staff employee shall be notified of the date of the rescheduled observation no later than one (1) day prior to the end of the week in which the observation should have taken place, so as to accommodate lesson planning. A pre-observation conference shall be held to review the ancillary staff employee’s IDP and those areas which might be observed. All monitoring or observation of the work of the teacher shall be conducted openly and with the knowledge of the ancillary staff employee. The parties agree that during an observation every effort will be made to maintain the normal teaching-learning process. An observation shall include assessment of the ancillary staff employee’s skill and ability in the observed domains of the “Framework for Professional Practice”. A post-observation conference shall be held within five (5) work days of the observation unless the ancillary staff employee agrees in writing to extend the time to conduct the conference, not to exceed thirty (30) days. In the event the meeting does not occur as a result of administrator unavailability within thirty-five (35) days of the observation, negative comments or concerns shall be excluded from the observation. The ancillary staff employee teacher shall bring a completed Post-Observation Reflection Form to this conference, and the administrator shall bring the completed Classroom Observation Form. The ancillary staff employee teacher and the administrator shall each retain copies of both forms. As a result of this post-observation conference, identified areas of concern, together with suggested ways in which the ancillary staff employee is to improve, and identification of assistance to be given, may be addressed in the teacher’s IDP.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.
