Probationary Period for Newly Hired Employees. All new employees shall serve a probationary period. The probationary period, which is solely for the purpose of determining a new employee’s suitability, may only be extended by mutual agreement of the University and the Union. After successful completion of the probationary period, seniority shall be established in accordance with Article 9.01. See Article 3.06.

Probationary Period for Newly Hired Employees. Vacation is earned during the initial probationary period, but the employee is not eligible to use vacation until the probation has been successfully completed. If a new employee leaves the service before completing their probationary period, the employee will receive no vacation pay.
Probationary Period for Newly Hired Employees. A. All newly hired Laborers shall serve a probationary period of ninety (90) days with written evaluations at the end of sixty (60) days, with the evaluation being reviewed with the employee. A written evaluation at the 85th day of employment shall also be made. If the evaluation reflects a standard less than those expected of the probationary employee, the employee shall be so notified and terminated or returned to prior classification.

Seniority shall not accrue until an employee has successfully completed his or her probationary period, at which point seniority shall become established as of the employee’s last date of hire. An employee cannot be transferred or promoted to another position at the College while in probationary status.

  • Probationary Employees Employees with permanent status will not be separated from state service through a layoff action without first being offered positions they have the skills and abilities to perform within their current job classification within the layoff unit currently held by probationary employees.   • Probationary Period A new employee will be considered on probation until he has completed forty-five (45) days of work (or 337.5 hours of work for employees whose regular hours of work are other than the standard work day), within any twelve (12) calendar months.   • Rehired Employees Amounts forfeited upon termination of employment because of the failure to meet the applicable vesting requirements shall not be reinstated or re-credited if an individual is subsequently rehired or re-employed by the School Corporation. However, if the Board shall have approved a leave of absence of not more than one (1) fiscal year for an employee, such period of leave shall not result in forfeiture provided the employee shall promptly return to employment following the expiration of the period of the leave.
