EMPLOYEE LEAVES. A. Paid Sick Leave 1. Full-time Bargaining Unit Members Credit and Accrual of Sick Leave a. Full-time bargaining unit members with a 173-day contract shall be credited with 3.51 hours of Sick Leave for each of the first 22 biweekly payroll periods in which the member actively performs his or her assigned duties during each academic year. b. Full-time bargaining unit members with a 204-day or longer contract shall be credited with 3.69 hours of Sick Leave for each biweekly payroll period in which the member actively performs his or her assigned duties during the academic year. c. Full-time bargaining unit members who work beyond their contract (i.e., summer assignments for full-time Teaching Faculty or extra work days for full-time Academic Professionals) shall be credited with 0.04 hours of Sick Leave for each clock hour of such non-teaching extra work and 0.08 hours of Sick Leave for each teaching contact hour of such extra work performed by the member. d. Maximum accrual of Sick Leave for full-time bargaining unit members shall be 96 hours per academic year or a cumulative total of 1200 hours. 2. EMPLOYEE LEAVES. 14:01 Cumulative Sick Leave Plan a) i) All full time Teachers are entitled to twenty (20) sick leave days in any school year.
EMPLOYEE LEAVES. A. SICK LEAVE 1. Rate and method of accumulation a. Fifteen (15) work days with full pay shall be earned yearly as sick leave by each employee who works the regular school year.
EMPLOYEE LEAVES. 1. The Parties agree that if an employee is unavailable or unable to perform assigned work for personal or medical reasons, the employee will follow Article XVI of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Federal and State guidelines for additional paid leave. Teachers will utilize Aesop to report an absence on days when they will not be providing instruction. Any employee absent from duty under quarantine or due to illness arising out of the COVID-19 Pandemic must notify the District when they have tested positive for COVID-19 and will follow the CDC, State and County guidelines for care. 2. Employees that meet the requirements and qualifying reasons outlined in the Department of Labor’s “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” will be entitled to up to a total of ten (10) days of H.R. 6201 paid sick leave from April 1,2020, through December 31, 2020. Employees are responsible for completing the appropriate forms. The COVID-19 Leave Chart will assist employees to better understand the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), also referred to as H.R. 6201, language regarding paid leaves available to you during this time. For your reference, we also have attached informational material that outlines FFCRA Employee Rights to leave flexibility related to COVID-19 and the Employee Request for Emergency Sick Leave and Emergency Family and Medical Leave Form. 3. Employees must inform the District if they have tested positive, or have been exposed to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, and must follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and County Health Department guidelines to self-quarantine and to self-monitor for any potential symptoms such as fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. In that event the unit member cannot perform their duties due to COVID-19 symptoms, they may utilize H.R. 6201 leave and/or other available leaves. Employees will work directly with HR to determine which leaves they may be eligible for under H.R. 6201 and/or if they will use accumulated sick leaves or other applicable leaves, in the event they are unable to perform their duties. 5. EMPLOYEE LEAVES. 14:01 Sick Leave and Short Term Disability Leave Plan In accordance with and in addition to Part A: Article 3 - Sick Leave/Short-Term Leave and Disability Plan Permanent Teachers: a) All Teachers are entitled to all sick leave entitlements in any school year. b) For purposes of this Plan, the school year will be considered to extend from September 1 of one year to June 30 of the following year. c) The Board shall provide an accurate statement of sick leave credits to each Teacher on payroll, on the Teacher's individual iME-ESS account. d) A Teacher returning to teaching or transferring from another Board in Ontario shall begin his/her service with his/her carry-forward days accumulated in the most recent year in which they taught. e) Every period of absence is to be reported by all teaching personnel. Procedures are outlined in detail in the Policy Book available in every school.

EMPLOYEE LEAVES. A. Educators who are required to quarantine, on recommendation of the Minnesota Department of Health or Regional Response Team, but who are not ill themselves shall be permitted to work remotely. B. The District shall provide paid leave for educators who are required to quarantine, on recommendation of the Minnesota Department of Health and/or Regional Response Team; educators shall not be required to use personal sick days when quarantining. 1. Active educators shall have access to all existing sick leave benefits under Article XII, Section 1 of the collective bargaining agreement. During the duration of a pandemic declared by the Center for Disease Control, all sick leave will be credited up front. 2. Employees shall have access to additional leave for special circumstances under Article 12, Section 1 of the collective bargaining agreement. An educator returning from approved FMLA leave related to XXXXX, who has used their accrued time off and who has exhausted their accrued paid leave account shall have their paid leave account credited with two (2) days to ensure they have a minimum of two (2) days paid leave upon return. 3. Additional leave needed will be provided under the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act (EFMLEA) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). 4. Health insurance benefits under Article XI of the Master Agreement will continue in accordance and with State or Federal law. D. Any employee who takes a leave of absence this year shall be eligible to participate in any early retirement incentive offered between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021. E. A teacher returning from an unpaid general leave of absence due to COVID 19 shall be reinstated in the educator’s former position unless reassigned pursuant to Article XIII (Vacancies and Reassignments). F. Educators on unpaid general leaves of absence shall have the right to safely preserve their financial well-being while on leave. G. These provisions may be modified for extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis by mutual agreement of the employee, employer and union.

The following types of leave will be provided to employees unable to work who are diagnosed with COVID-19, identified for self-quarantine, or are providing care to a family member who is quarantining or who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Employees will be required to provide the name of the healthcare provider who advised the individual being cared to self-quarantine. The leaves are to be applied in the following order, if they apply.
