Professional Activity Day. Each year the Board shall grant one (1) day with pay to all employees, for the purpose of professional activity approved by the Board and as long as it coincides with a scheduled P.A. Day.
Professional Activity Day. L 20.01 When a Professional Development Day falls within a Long Term Assignment, the Long Term Occasional Teacher shall be paid for that day provided they participate in the activities for the day and it shall be considered as part of the current assignment. L 20.02 It is further understood that in the case of a Casual Occasional Teacher, a Professional Activity Day will be considered a non-teaching day, and as such will not constitute a break in continuous teaching days for purposes of qualifying as a Long-Term Occasional Teacher. L 20.03 Where an Exam Day(s) fall within a Long Term Assignment, the Long Term Occasional Teacher shall be paid for that day(s) provided they participate in the activities for the day(s).

Part-time Long Term Occasional Teachers will attend Professional Activity Days prorated to the proportion of the assignment length. The timing of the Professional Activity Days shall be at the discretion of the Member, communicated to the Administrator and can be combined However, it is understood that the Professional Activity Day must fall during work assignment days in order to qualify for any remuneration. 12.03.01 An occasional teacher who has been placed on a prearranged work assignment and who arrives for work without having received prior notice of cancellation at least two hours prior to work, shall be paid one half (1/2) a day's pay. If alternate work to replace the original work assignment has been offered to the occasional teacher and the occasional teacher refuses to accept such alternate work, the occasional teacher forfeits the half (1/2) day’s pay mentioned above. 12.03.02 When inclement weather causes school closures or bus cancellations: a) It is the school administrator’s responsibility to inform the automated call system of the cancellation of the assignment at least two hours prior to the work assignment. b) It is the Occasional Teacher’s responsibility to verify the work assignment through the automated call system or Office 365.

The Board shall give notice of cancellation or modification of any pre-arranged assignment by 8:00 p.m. of the previous day through the Automated Call System. Cancellation by administration made after this time will result in one half day’s pay. If alternate work to replace the original work assignment has been offered to the Occasional Teacher and the Occasional Teacher refuses to accept such alternate work, the Occasional Teacher forfeits the half (1/2) day’s pay mentioned above. If the Automated Call System offers the Occasional Teacher an alternate assignment for the cancelled day’s work that is within the parameters set forth by the Occasional Teacher as per Article 9.02, no payment is owing for the cancelled job. b. When an Occasional Teacher cancels the assignment after 4:00 p.m. on the day prior or thereafter, the Occasional Teacher shall give notice of cancellation of their assignment through the Automated Call System, and by Microsoft 365 email to the Administrator. c. It is understood that in the event of bus cancellations or school closure, cancellation can occur up to 7 a.m. in the automated call system, accompanied by direct communication via phone call, text message or email to the number listed in the automated call system. d. In all cases where an Occasional Teacher receives pay under this Article, the time for which the Occasional Teacher is paid shall be treated in all other respects as if it were time worked.
Professional Activity Day. The parties confirm that should there be an additional PA Day beyond the current 6 PA days in the 2015-16 and/or the 2016-17 school years, there will be no loss of pay for OCEW members (excluding casual employees) as a result of the implementation of these additional PA days. For further clarity, the additional PA day will be deemed a normal work day. OCEW members will be required to attend and perform duties as assigned. Notwithstanding these days may be designated as SULP days. Casual employees who are directed to attend training on PA Days will be compensated in accordance with current local collective agreement provisions.

RE: Long Term Disability (LTD) Plan Working Group‌ The parties acknowledge that increases in premiums for LTD plans are a significant issue. The parties agree to review the issue of affordability of LTD plans for both boards and employees who pay LTD premiums (in whole or in part) in support of existing LTD plan arrangements. A joint central committee of Board staff and OCEW members shall be established to review options related to sustainability and affordability of LTD plans. Options may include, but are not limited to: I. Exploring a common plan through a competitive tendering process II. Exploring other delivery options through a competitive tendering process

  • Professional Activities The Superintendent is expected to attend appropriate professional meetings at the local and state levels, and, subject to prior Board approval, at the national level. All reasonable expenses incurred shall be paid by the Board.

  • Outside Professional Activities 18.6.1 The nature of the professional competence of many Members affords opportunities for the exercise of that competence outside the Member's regular university duties, on both remunerative and non-remunerative bases. Recognizing that such professional activities can bring benefits to and enhance the reputation of the University and the capacity of Members, the University agrees that Members have the right to engage in part-time professional activities, paid or unpaid, provided that such activities do not conflict or interfere with the Member's obligations, duties and responsibilities to the University as defined in this Agreement, except as provided in clause 18.6.3 and subject also to the following conditions: (a) When a Member's outside activities involve the use of the University's facilities, supplies or services, their use shall be subject to the prior approval of the University. Costs for such facilities, supplies or services shall be borne by the outside group at prevailing rates set by the University, unless the University agrees, in writing, to waive all or part of such costs. (b) The name of the University shall not be used in any related professional activity unless agreed, in writing, by the Vice-President: Academic, although nothing shall prevent the Member from stating the nature and place of his/her employment, rank and title(s) in connection with related professional activities, provided that he/she shall not purport to represent the University or speak for it, or to have its approval unless that approval has been given in writing. (c) A Member shall, upon written request from his/her ▇▇▇▇, provide all information on the nature and scope of related professional activities of a substantial nature, in so far as the information relates to a Member's duties and responsibilities as specified in this Article 18. 18.6.2 A Member shall not hold both a full-time appointment at the University and a full-time appointment at another institution or organization, except as provided in Article 17.8. 18.6.3 If the participation in activities described in clause 18.6.1 conflicts or interferes with the obligations, duties and responsibilities of the Member as defined in this Article 18, mutually satisfactory arrangements shall be made in advance between the Member and the Vice- President: Academic. Should the Member and the Vice-President: Academic fail to reach agreement, the Member is obliged to fulfil the duties and responsibilities set out in this Article 18.

  • CRIMINAL ACTIVITY If subsequent to the effectiveness of this Agreement, NYSERDA comes to know of any allegation previously unknown to it that the Contractor or any of its principals is under indictment for a felony, or has been, within five (5) years prior to submission of the Contractor’s proposal to NYSERDA, convicted of a felony, under the laws of the United States or Territory of the United States, then NYSERDA may exercise its stop work right under this Agreement. If subsequent to the effectiveness of this Agreement, NYSERDA comes to know of the fact, previously unknown to it, that Contractor or any of its principals is under such indictment or has been so convicted, then NYSERDA may exercise its right to terminate this Agreement. If the Contractor knowingly withheld information about such an indictment or conviction, NYSERDA may declare the Agreement null and void and may seek legal remedies against the Contractor and its principals. The Contractor or its principals may also be subject to penalties for any violation of law which may apply in the particular circumstances. For a Contractor which is an association, partnership, corporation, or other organization, the provisions of this paragraph apply to any such indictment or conviction of the organization itself or any of its officers, partners, or directors or members of any similar governing body, as applicable.

  • Promotional Activities ‌ 19 At the request of North Sound BH-ASO, Provider shall display promotional materials in its 20 offices and facilities as practical, in accordance with applicable law and cooperate with and 21 participate in all reasonable marketing efforts. Provider shall not use any North Sound BH- 22 ASO name in any advertising or promotional materials without the prior written permission of 23 North Sound BH-ASO.

  • Professional Dues The school district will pay the annual dues for the Superintendent’s membership in the following organizations: Nebraska Council of School Administrators (NCSA), The School Superintendents Association (AASA), and any other membership dues requested by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
