Prolonged Overtime. The parties recognize that the employee’s work is often hazardous and it is therefore necessary that the employee should be alert at all times. It is therefore agreed that only in cases of emergency would employees be required to work in excess of thirteen (13) hours and, should this occur, they will be given at least eight (8) hours rest. Additional rest time will be allowed for long distance travel at the discretion of the Company. Should this period of rest occur during a normal scheduled shift, it will be paid at regular straight time rate of pay.

Prolonged Overtime. When in the judgment of the Director of Public Works, a period of prolonged overtime work is anticipated which will require calling employees at home to return to work, hot coffee and sandwiches will be provided by the City at no cost to the employees and in reasonable quantity throughout the period of prolonged overtime. Consistent with the requirements of the work involved, an opportunity will be afforded for all employees involved in such prolonged overtime work to partake of the coffee and sandwiches.
Prolonged Overtime. Generally, Employees will be provided with a Meal Allowance rather than a meal. However, in situations of prolonged overtime the Company may elect to provide a meal (hot where practical) instead of a Meal Allowance. If the value of such meal is less than the value of the Meal Allowance, the Employee shall be paid the difference. One-half hour paid rest period will be allowed where the meal is provided by the Company.
Prolonged Overtime. If it becomes necessary to require an employee to work in excess of sixteen (16) hours in one day, the EMPLOYER agrees to make arrangements for the employee to have eight (8) hours rest off the clock.

  • Planned Overtime In making planned overtime assignments the Employer shall first assign overtime on an equal opportunity basis according to each section’s procedure (Schedule E), as agreed to by the parties. Such overtime shall be assigned to employees who are actively on the payroll and who have indicated their willingness to accept overtime assignments according to section procedures and who are:

  • Banked Overtime In the event the day in lieu of working the statutory holiday is not provided as stipulated in 8.01.04, this portion may also be banked.

  • Scheduled Overtime Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.

  • Overtime Work A. Overtime pay is to be paid at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the basic hourly straight-time rate.

  • Weekly Overtime An Employee required to work in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) for the first eight (8) hours of work in excess of the forty (40) hours and double time thereafter.

  • Holiday Overtime An employee required to work on any of the above-named holidays will be paid holiday pay plus payment for the number of hours worked at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) his regular straight time rate of pay.

  • Daily Overtime All employees shall be paid the applicable overtime rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.
