Protective Vests. Any employee may receive a protective vest, providing the employee wears such vest. In the event the employee fails to wear the vest, he shall reimburse the Employer for the cost of the vest.

Protective Vests. Deputies regularly assigned to patrol division who request in writing the issuance of a protective vest shall be provided a protective vest at no cost to the Deputy. Once a vest is requested and issued, it shall be a condition of employment for the Deputy to wear the vest at all times while on duty and/or in uniform. Vests will be replaced every five (5) years or sooner, if damaged, according to the manufacture recommendations.

Camp officers shall wear protective combination vests (to include load- bearing vests) while armed. 6. Alternatively, DAI Peace Officers, including Correctional Officers, Correctional Counselors, and Camp Officers, are authorized to wear departmentally approved load bearing vests, purchased at their own expense. 7. All Bargaining Xxxx 0 staff who have routine interaction with the public while wearing a department-issued sidearm shall be issued a combination vest.
Protective Vests. The City will purchase one bullet-proof vest for each bargaining unit employee, and such vests will be worn at all times while on duty. The City, upon request, will provide two cool shirts, for use with the vests. Employees requesting the cool shirts will be required to use them. Any change from this requirement will be at the direction of the Chief and the City Manager only, and shall be a matter of departmental policy. The City shall replace protective vests after being used for five years.
Protective Vests. Employees who elect to purchase their own protective vest through the department’s vendor may request credit of up to $400 in lieu of accepting the departmental issued vests. In order to receive credit, the employee must select a vest that meets with the approval of the department and comply with any other procedures implemented by the department for this purpose.

Protective Vests. 1. Individually fitted protective vests shall be issued to all employees working in any lock-up unit (such as, but not limited to, SHUs, Administrative Segregation Units, Tamarack, Xxxx, Inyo, ten bed lockdown at Xxxx Xxxxxx, O & R Companies, Cambria Unit, and X.X. Xxxxxxxxxx). 2. As additional protective vests become available, they shall be offered to employees working in Level IV facilities first, then Level III, then Level II, then Level I. 3. Each employee issued a vest shall also be issued two (2) covers. No later than ninety (90) days after ratification of this Agreement, the State agrees to ensure there is adequate clean vest covers for each employee issued a protective vest. 4. Protective vests need not be issued to COs whose duties do not normally require inmate contact. 5. If an employee is issued a protective vest, the employee shall be required to wear the vest while on duty. Failure to wear the vest on duty under the prescribed conditions may result in adverse action against the employee. 6. As the present protective vests are replaced, the State shall replace them with individually fitted protective vests that are lighter and at least as flexible as the present protective vests, and which will meet all the present standards.
Protective Vests. Section 1. The parties take note of the City's past practice of issuing a maximum concealment protective vest to every certified officer when entering upon employment. The City agrees to continue this practice during the term of this Agreement. The vest currently issued shall include shock plates, and the officer may choose the new wrap- around model. Since the vest is not considered a part of the uniform, and does not affect the officer's clothing allowance, the City retains the right to select a quality vest, meeting a minimum of "Class II or IIIA" specifications which is to be issued from time to time. An Officer may elect to upgrade the vest, which meets minimum department guidelines, at the officer’s expense. Officers that upgrade their vest may elect to keep the vest upon replacement or retirement. Section 2. The wearing of the issued vest while on duty is mandatory, except as provided in General Order 43. Section 3. It is agreed that all officers who are issued vests have an obligation to provide reasonable care and maintenance, for the vest and for body armor supplied to them. All officers will be required to have a serviceable vest for their use. If the vest becomes unserviceable, a new vest will be supplied at the cost of the City, unless, in the sole option of the Chief of Police or designee, the officer has not given the vest the reasonable care and maintenance required, in which event, the vest will be replaced at the cost of the officer. Section 4. All protective vests shall be replaced within five (5) years of issue.
Protective Vests. The Village agrees to provide the Street CSO commencing employment with the Algonquin Police Department a protective vest, valued up to a maximum of six hundred dollars ($600.00) per CSO. A CSO may replace said vest every five (5) years, and shall receive a replacement vest valued up to $600.00 from the Village. The body armor provided will meet the requirements for Type II or III-A classification of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Standard 0101.04 (or current applicable NIJ standard). A CSO wishing to replace body armor that is four years old, or older, must make the request by December 31st. The body armor will be replaced in the following fiscal year. The Village will replace, as soon as possible, body armor that is shot with a bullet or otherwise compromised by a knife or other weapon. The selection of the new protective vest must be approved by the Chief of Police or his designee. CSO’s may utilize uniform allowance to cover the remainder of the cost of a new vest. CSO’s receiving vests shall be required to return any used vests, (which were purchased with Village funds), to the Village.
