Reassignment & Transfer. 7‐1‐1 The basic considerations in the assignment of professional personnel are the demands and responsibilities of the program of instruction. It is the policy that instructional personnel be assigned on the basis of their qualifications and the needs of the district. The Superintendent has the responsibility for the assignment of all personnel in the schools.
Reassignment & Transfer. It is understood that the Chief of Police retains the right to reassign or transfer a member to ensure the needs, interests, and effective operation of the Police Department or to ensure the safety of a member or the public. Prior to such reassignment or transfer, the Chief of Police will meet with the member and an Association representative to apprise the member of the reason(s) for the planned reassignment or transfer and to receive input from the member and the Association. Should the reassignment or transfer be grieved, the grievant bears the burden of showing that the reassignment or transfer violates the Agreement.
Reassignment & Transfer. It is understood that the Director of Public Safety retains the right to reassign or transfer a member to ensure the needs, interests, and effective operation of the Police Department or to ensure the safety of a member or the public. Prior to such reassignment or transfer, the Director of Public Safety will meet with the member and a Lodge representative to apprise the member of the reason(s) for the planned reassignment or transfer and to receive input from the member and the Lodge. Should the reassignment or transfer be grieved, the grievant bears the burden of showing that the reassignment or transfer violates the Agreement.
Reassignment & Transfer. A. The District shall assign, reassign and transfer unit members to meet the District’s instructional needs. The District shall then determine when a bargaining unit position is vacant and when it shall be filled. A vacant position may be filled by a reassignment, by transfer, by “other placement,” or by employment of a non-employee. In all cases, the parties are committed to the placement of the best qualified applicant into each vacant position consistent with the provisions of this Article.
Reassignment & Transfer. The intent of this article is to set forth clear and transparent procedures to be followed when a vacancy exists. Voluntary transfer and reassignment procedures do not apply when no vacancies exist. This means there is no “open bidding process” for positions that have already been filled.
Reassignment & Transfer. For the 2005-2006 school year effective July 1, 2005, positions which become available after the close of the voluntary transfer process will be filled with temporary teachers and will be advertised the following year (as per Article 34-9-3). Both parties mutually agree to review this practice at the 2006-2007 bargaining session
Reassignment & Transfer. The District retains the right to involuntarily reassign and/or transfer unit members, at any time, consistent with the terms and requirements of this Article. The District's right to reassign and/or transfer unit members is not limited to vacant positions.
