Referred Teachers. 10.2.1 The Referred Teacher is a permanent teacher who receives assistance in an area in which the teacher received an unsatisfactory evaluation as provided in Article 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
10.2.2 The purpose of participation in the PAR Program is to assist permanent teachers who have received an unsatisfactory evaluation. Permanent Teachers shall be required to participate in the PAR Program as a result of an unsatisfactory final evaluation in any domain of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession as provided in Article 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
10.2.3 The Consulting Teacher shall provide assistance to the Referred Teacher until the Referred Teacher is removed from the PAR Program or until the Joint Panel concludes that further assistance will not be productive. The Consulting Teacher shall continue to provide assistance until the Joint Panel determines otherwise. The Referred Teacher shall have the right to submit a written response to any report submitted by the Consulting Teacher to the Joint Panel.
10.2.4 The Referred Teacher shall have the right to challenge one Consulting Teacher assigned to the Referred Teacher by the Joint Panel. The Referred Teacher shall not have to give any reasons for the challenge of the assigned Consulting Teacher. However, after the Referred Teacher challenges a Consulting Teacher assigned by the Joint Panel, the Referred Teacher must accept the subsequent assignment(s) of Consulting Teacher(s).
10.2.5 The evaluation process, pursuant to Article 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for any Referred Teacher shall not be altered as a result of participating in the PAR Program except as negotiated by the District and the Association.
10.2.6 This article does not expand nor diminish the Referred Teacher’s ability to grieve an evaluation pursuant to Article 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Referred Teachers. Permanent teachers who receive an unsatisfactory final evaluation in either subject matter knowledge, or teaching methods/strategies as provided for in the California Standards for Teaching Profession shall, be referred to the joint panel for intervention.
1. RT will receive assistance and coaching through the services of a Consulting Teacher (CT) to improve subject matter knowledge and teaching methods/ strategies.
2. RT shall have the right to present reasons in writing why their specific CT should be replaced and to have their reasons considered by the Joint Panel (JP).
Referred Teachers. (RTs): The administrator who authored the unsatisfactory evaluation shall refer RTs to the JP. The administrator shall provide the JP a copy of the unsatisfactory evaluation, together with appropriate supporting documentation. A copy of the referral packet shall be sent to the Referring Teacher. The JP shall review the referral packet including the unsatisfactory evaluation and supporting documentation and shall hold individual interviews with the referring administrator and RTs. The JP shall determine the nature of assistance that CTs shall provide.
a. Referral to PAR shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.
Referred Teachers a. A Participating Teacher may request a change of Consulting Teacher once while in the program upon approval of the Joint Panel.
b. All informal communication related to the PAR Program between the Consulting Teacher and the Referred Teacher shall be confidential, and without written consent of the Referred Participating Teacher, shall not be shared with any others.
c. The Referred Teacher has the right to be represented at any Joint Panel meeting throughout these procedures by an Association representative.
d. Compensation is not provided for participation in PAR.
Referred Teachers. A Referred Teacher is a teacher with permanent status who receives assistance to improve his or her instructional skills, classroom management, knowledge of subject, and/or related aspects of his or her teaching performance as a result of an overall evaluation rating of “Does Not Meet Standards” on the Certificated Staff Evaluation Report.
Referred Teachers. The Consulting Teacher reserves the right to limit to one (1) the number of referred teachers he/she supports.
Referred Teachers. Are permanent unit members who have received an unsatisfactory evaluation pursuant to Education Code Section 44664 (b). They shall be referred to the Professional Development Panel and required to participate in the PAR Program.
Referred Teachers. A dedicated unit for the placement of referred teachers trialled in 2005 will continue its operations as an integral component of the transfer process.
Referred Teachers. 8.4.1 Teachers receiving a “needs improvement” on his/her evaluation may be referred to the PAR/BTSA Panel for participation in the Peer Assistance program.
8.4.2 The evaluator will meet with the teacher to explain the referral.
8.4.3 If the teacher volunteers to participate, a Consulting Teacher will be assigned.
