PEER ASSISTANCE AND REVIEW (PAR) PROGRAM. The Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Program has been developed to assist permanent teaching unit members who have an unsatisfactory evaluation in the areas of instructional techniques or methodology and/or subject matter knowledge. A teaching unit member who is placed in PAR is also placed on Xxxx Valley School District’s Support and Improvement Plan. A teaching unit member who seeks improvement of their already proficient performance may request participation in PAR. Such self referral shall not be subject to the PAR evaluation process. A copy of the PAR Program is available from the Human Resources Department.

PEER ASSISTANCE AND REVIEW (PAR) PROGRAM. A. There shall be Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Program, hereafter referred to as "Program," for all permanent bargaining unit members. The goal of Peer Assistance and Review is to improve the quality of teaching. The PAR Program provides a mechanism whereby exemplary bargaining unit members assist other bargaining unit members in one or more of the areas of subject matter knowledge, instructional strategies and teaching methodology. The Program shall have two components.
PEER ASSISTANCE AND REVIEW (PAR) PROGRAM. 011 The Association and the Board of Education believe that optimum student performance can be achieved only if there is a qualified teacher in every classroom. The parties believe, further, that a peer assistance and review (PAR) program, the primary goals of which are to provide help to teachers entering the profession and to improve the performance of a veteran teacher who is not performing at an acceptable level, can significantly contribute to the attainment of this objective.
PEER ASSISTANCE AND REVIEW (PAR) PROGRAM. A. Support for Permanent Teachers placed on a plan of assistance due to an unsatisfactory evaluation. 1. A Referred Participating Teacher is a teacher with permanent status who is required to receive assistance to improve his/her instructional skills, classroom management, knowledge of subject, and/or related aspects of his/her teaching performance as a result of an “unsatisfactory” rating on the Formal Evaluation Summary (on the last page of the form). 2. A Consulting Teacher is a teacher who provides assistance to a Participating Teacher. Consulting Teachers shall assist Participating Teachers by demonstrating, observing, coaching, conferencing, referring, or by other activities, which in their professional judgment will assist the Participating Teacher. 3. The consulting teacher shall be selected by mutual agreement of the Superintendent/designee and the Participating Teacher. 4. Assignment as a Consulting Teacher shall be voluntary. 5. The Consulting Teacher shall meet with the Referred Participating Teacher to develop an assistance plan that addresses the Participating Teacher’s Improvement Plan Addendum to the formal evaluation. 6. A Consulting Teacher may not be released from teaching duties for more than 20% of his/her regular assignment. 7. In addition to the regular salary, a Consulting Teacher shall receive a stipend of $1,000 per Referred Participating Teacher served

  • Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Consulting Teachers (CT) will be assigned to all new teachers with no prior teaching experience and tenured teachers rated ineffective on the qualitative measures at the end of the previous school year and recommended by the PAR Panel. Evaluations for Probationary and Ineffective Teachers:

  • Dependent Care Assistance Program The County offers the option of enrolling in a Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) designed to qualify for tax savings under Section 129 of the Internal Revenue Code, but such savings are not guaranteed. The program allows employees to set aside up to five thousand dollars ($5,000) of annual salary (before taxes) per calendar year to pay for eligible dependent care (child and elder care) expenses. Any unused balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered by the employee.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Section 1. The Employer agrees to provide to the Union the statistical and program evaluation information provided to management concerning Employee Assistance Program(s). Section 2. No information gathered by an Employee Assistance Program may be used to discipline an employee. Section 3. Employees shall be entitled to use accrued sick leave for participation in an Employee Assistance Program. Section 4. Each university will offer training to local Union Stewards on the Employee Assistance Program available in their university, on university time, where an Employee Assistance Program is available.

  • Employee Assistance Program Neither the fact of an employee's participation in an employee assistance program, nor information generated by participation in the program, shall be used as a reason for discipline under this Article, except for information relating to an employee's failure to participate in an employee assistance program consistent with the terms to which the employee and the University have agreed.

  • Quality Assurance Program An employee shall be entitled to leave of absence without loss of earnings from her or his regularly scheduled working hours for the purpose of writing examinations required by the College of Nurses of Ontario arising out of the Quality Assurance Program.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • Turnover Assistance Grantee will provide any assistance and actions reasonably necessary to enable System Agency or its designee to effectively close out the Grant Agreement and transfer the performance and obligations of the Grant Agreement to another Grantee or to System Agency if necessary. Grantee agrees that this obligation survives the termination, regardless of whether for cause or convenience, or the expiration of the Grant Agreement and remains in effect until completed to the satisfaction of System Agency.

  • Employee Assistance Programs Consistent with the University's Employee Assistance Program, employees participating in an employee assistance program who receive a notice of layoff may continue to participate in that program for a period of ninety (90) days following the layoff.

  • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.

  • Directory Assistance Service 8.3.1 Directory Assistance Service provides local end user telephone number listings with the option to complete the call at the caller's direction separate and distinct from local switching.
