REST PERIODS/MEAL PERIODS. 12.1 Employees, including casual employees, shall be permitted to take two (2) ten (10) minute rest periods to be scheduled by the Company in each regular eight (8) hour shift. One (1) rest period shall be during the first half of the shift and one (1) during the last half of the shift. Regular employees are entitled to an unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes or more than one (1) hour between the fourth (4th) and sixth (6th) hours unless otherwise mutually agreed.

Alternate durations are possible, upon mutual consent of the Employer and the employee. It is recognised that certain continuous operations require employees to remain on the job for the full seven decimal five (7.5) hour work day. In these cases such employees will be paid at the applicable overtime rate for the half hour meal period Rotating or Irregular Shift Work Consultation shall be held at the local level with a view to establishing shift schedules. Such consultation will include all aspects of arrangements of shift schedules. It is understood that the application of this Article must not be incompatible with the intent and spirit of provisions otherwise governing hours of work. The application of this clause must respect the average hours of work over the duration of the master schedule, and must be consistent with the operational requirements as determined by the Employer. Within five (5) days of notification of consultation served by either party, the Alliance shall notify the Employer in writing of the representative authorized to act on behalf of the Alliance for constructive consultation purposes.

  • Rest Periods Employees working a full shift will receive one rest period of fifteen (15) minutes in each half of the shift. Employees working less than a full shift, but a minimum of four (4) hours will receive one fifteen (15) minute rest period.

  • Meal Periods and Rest Periods (a) Regular hours of work shall include, as scheduled by the Employer, two (2) rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes during each shift of seven and three- quarter (7 3/4) hours and exclude an unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes.

  • Meal/Rest Periods All nurses shall receive an unpaid meal period of one-half (1/2) hour. Nurses required to remain on duty or in the Hospital during their meal period shall be compensated for such time at the appropriate rate of pay. All nurses shall receive one (1) fifteen

  • Meal Periods (a) Meal periods shall be scheduled as closely as possible to the middle of the workday. The length of the meal period shall be not less than thirty (30) minutes and not more than sixty (60) minutes.

  • Paid Rest Periods All Employees shall be given a paid rest period of fifteen (15) minutes in the first and second half of their daily shift in an area made available by the Employer. If mutually agreed to between the parties, the two (2) rest periods shall be combined.

  • Interest Periods In connection with each LIBOR Rate Loan, the Borrower, by giving notice at the times described in Section 3.1(a), shall elect an interest period (each, an "Interest Period") to be applicable to such Loan, which Interest Period shall be a period of one (1), two (2), three (3) or six (6) months with respect to each LIBOR Rate Loan; provided that:

  • Additional Rest Periods When an employee performs authorized overtime work of at least three (3) hours duration, the Hospital will schedule a rest period of fifteen (15) minutes duration.

  • Rest Period An employee who works overtime shall have at least a ten hour rest period between the end of ordinary hours on any one day and start of ordinary hours on the next day. If on the instructions of the employer, the employee resumes or continues work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, the employee shall be paid double time until he or she is released from duty for ten hour rest period. The employee shall then be entitled to be absent without loss of pay for ordinary working hours occurring during the ten hour rest period. In the case of shift workers, eight hours shall be substituted for ten hours when overtime is worked:

  • Article Rest Periods Employees shall be entitled, subject to the exigencies of patient care, to relief periods during the shift on the basis of minutes for each hours worked.

  • Overtime Rest Periods If an employee is assigned one (1) or more hours of overtime work contiguous to his/her regular workshift or is called back within one (1) hour of his/her scheduled quitting time, the Agency will provide a fifteen (15) minute rest period after two (2) hours of overtime completed.
