Return to Work from a Leave of Absence. An employee returning to work after a leave of absence shall notify the Board of the employee’s intent return to as soon as the medical release is available, or as soon as the employee could reasonably determine they are permitted to return to work. An employee returning to work from a leave of absence for personal illness or medical disability shall submit a physician’s statement indicating the employee’s ability to return to work and perform employee’s regular work duties. Any employee who, consistent with the Board’s reasonable time requirements, fails to request an extension of the leave of absence or fails to return to work, or fails to provide the required physician’s statement, shall be deemed to have resigned and the employee’s employment with the school district shall be terminated.
