Routine Maintenance Activities. In order to ensure smooth and uninterrupted use of the Project Facilities during normal operating conditions for all 24 hours of a day, routine maintenance of the Project Facilities shall include but not be limited to:
Routine Maintenance Activities. The majority of this work consists of scheduled mowings, trash and debris pickups and landscape care for the BRC/PLD during the growing season. It also includes activities such as weed control. These activities normally will be performed numerous times during the year. These items do not require any prior approval by the City of Aurora, however, completed inspection and maintenance forms shall be submitted to the City of Aurora for each inspection and maintenance activity in accordance with the Inspection and Maintenance Plan. The Routine Maintenance Activities are summarized below, and further described in the following sections. Mowing Twice annually Excessive grass height/aesthetics 2”-4” grass height Trash/Debris Removal Twice annually Trash & debris in BRC/PLD Remove and dispose of trash/debris Overflow Outlet Works Cleaning As needed - after significant rain events – twice annually minimum Clogged outlet structure; ponding water above outlet elevation Remove and dispose of debris/trash/sediment to allow outlet to function properly Weed Control As needed, based upon inspection Noxious weeds; Unwanted vegetation Treat w/herbicide or hand pull; consult a local Weed Inspector BRC/PLD-3.5.1 Mowing Routine mowing of the turf grass embankments is necessary to improve the overall appearance of the BRC/PLD. Turf grass should be mowed to a height of 2 to 4- inches and shall be bagged to prevent potential contamination of the filter media. Frequency – Routine - Minimum of twice annually or depending on aesthetics. BRC/PLD-3.5.2 Trash/Debris Removal Trash and debris must be removed from the entire BRC/PLD area to minimize outlet clogging and to improve aesthetics. This activity must be performed prior to mowing operations.
Routine Maintenance Activities. NYSDOT maintenance forces routinely perform many activities that involve soil disturbances, though some of these activities may not be characterized as “construction activities”.
Routine Maintenance Activities. Routine maintenance and repair activities shall be performed by the Contractor and are intended to ensure that the covers continue to function as designed. A more detailed description and examples of the types of activities that are considered routine are provided in the PCPs for the landfills and Basin F cover area and the ICS LTCP for the ICS cover area. Routine maintenance activities shall be reviewed by the Contractor at a semi-annual landfills and cover areas status meeting and included in annual reports.
Routine Maintenance Activities. The majority of this work consists of scheduled mowings, trash and debris pickups for the SFB during the growing season. It also includes activities such as weed control. These activities normally will be performed numerous times during the year. These items typically do not require any prior correspondence with the City of Aurora, however, completed inspection and maintenance forms shall be submitted to the City of Aurora for each inspection and maintenance in accordance with the Inspection and Maintenance Plan. The Routine Maintenance Activities are summarized below, and further described in the following sections. Mowing Twice annually Excessive grass height/aesthetics 2”-4” grass height Trash/Debris Removal Twice annually Trash/debris in SFB Remove and dispose of trash and debris Splitter Box/Overflow Outlet Works Cleaning As needed - after significant rain events – twice annually minimum Clogged outlet structure; ponding water Remove and dispose of debris/trash/sediment to allow outlet to function properly Woody growth control /Weed removal Minimum twice annually Noxious weeds; Unwanted vegetation Treat w/herbicide or hand pull; consult a local Weed Inspector
Routine Maintenance Activities. The principal maintenance objective is to prevent sediment buildup and clogging, which reduces pollutant removal efficiency and may lead to bioretention area failure. Routine maintenance activities, and the frequency at which they will be conducted, are shown in Table 1. 1 Remove obstructions, debris and trash from bioretention area and dispose of properly. Monthly, or as needed after storm events 1 Bioretention areas include linear treatment measures designed to filter water through biotreatment soils. A bioretention area that has no waterproof liner beneath it and has a raised underdrain in the underlying rock layer to promote infiltration, as shown in Section 6.1 of the C.3 Technical Guidance, may also be called a “bioinfiltration area”. 2 Attached site plan must match the site plan exhibit to Maintenance Agreement. 3 Inspect inlets for channels, soil exposure or other evidence of erosion. Clear obstructions and remove sediment. Monthly, or as needed after storm events 5 Maintain vegetation and the irrigation system. Prune and weed to keep bioretention area neat and orderly in appearance. Before wet season begins, or as needed 6 Inspect and, if needed, add mulch before the wet season begins. It is recommended that composted arbor mulch be applied once a year to maintain a 3” depth of mulch over all bare soil areas except within six inches of tree trunks. Before wet season begins, or as needed 7 Inspect bioretention area using the attached inspection checklist. Monthly, or after large storm events, and after removal of accumulated debris or material
Routine Maintenance Activities. This work consists of basic upkeep of the trail and GREENWAY amenities on a regular basis.
1. Trail surface: Debris, including rocks, sticks, litter, pet waste, lawn clippings, leaves, etc., shall be kept clear of the pathway as often as necessary to maintain a safe surface for trail users. Following storm events, trails should be inspected within 48 hours to ensure the pathway is clear of obstructions and/or hazards.
2. Vegetation along trails: Low growing vegetation, i.e. turf, shall be trimmed to a height as to ensure the vegetation is not obstructing the path of the trail. This should be conducted on a weekly or biweekly basis as needed to maintain a 3 foot buffer on either side of the paved pathway. Adjacent trees and brush, both naturally occurring and planted, shall be trimmed to a height of 8’ and to a distance of at least 3’ on either side of the pathway.
