Section 9.3.1 the District decide to discharge any non-annual employee at the end of the academic year, 3 the employee shall be so notified in writing prior to the expiration of the employee's work year, 4 except in case of a program discontinuance, then the District shall give two (2) weeks written 5 notice which will not have the academic year requirement.
Section 9.3.1. An employee shall be allowed up to three (3) days without pay, for the purpose of attending the 29 funeral or memorial service of a close personal friend, with the approval of the District.
Section 9.3.1. 25 Seniority rights of an employee shall be lost for the following reasons: 26 27 A. Resignation;
Section 9.3.1. 12 All permanent employees will receive a minimum of thirty (30) days notice of an impending 13 layoff from their position. A permanent employee whose hours are to be permanently reduced 14 by more-than-half will receive a minimum of thirty (30) days notice of the reduction in their 15 hours of work.
Section 9.3.1. 18 Nothing contained herein shall be construed to prevent the District from discharging an employee 19 for acts of misconduct occurring after the expiration of the school year. 20 23 A R T I C L E X 24 25 INSURANCE AND RETIREMENT
Section 9.3.1. 2 Extended personal leave may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent or official 3 designee in the event of extraordinary and/or compelling reasons. Extended personal leave 4 days shall be deducted as leave without pay.
Section 9.3.1. 30 An employee who is pregnant will be granted a leave of absence to a maximum of twelve (12) 31 weeks following birth of the child, in addition to any period of pregnancy-related disability prior to 32 the birth of the child, which may be extended by the District up to a maximum of one (1) year total, 33 to begin at any time between the commencement of her pregnancy and one year after a child is born 34 to her. The employee shall notify Human Resources in writing of her desire to take maternity leave, 35 and except in case of emergency, shall give notice at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the date 36 on which her leave is to begin. The employee may use available paid leave (including sick leave) 37 during any period of medical disability during pregnancy and for the employee’s recovery following 38 childbirth. Medical certification from the employee’s healthcare provider is required for any period 39 of disability. An employee who is pregnant may continue in active employment as late into her 40 pregnancy as she desires. 41
Section 9.3.1. 33 Employees who work an alternate work week (other than Monday through Friday) by mutual 34 agreement with their supervisor may work a normally scheduled holiday at their regular rate of 35 pay and take his/her normally scheduled work day(s) as a paid holiday.
Section 9.3.1. 12 If an employee on a leave of absence accepts a new job, expands his/her hours of work in 13 another job that was held prior to the leave of absence, receives unemployment insurance, or 14 goes into business for himself/herself, his/her employment and all other seniority rights will be 15 automatically terminated. Human Resource administration will review requests for exceptions 16 in extraordinary circumstances, including situations where the leave is health related.
