Selection of Redundant Employees. (i) The Company reserves the right to select employees and roles to be made redundant to suit the ongoing needs of the business.
(ii) The Company undertakes, however, to consult with the employees of the affected site and their representatives (if any) as to timing and selection.

Selection of Redundant Employees. (a) If redundancies are to take place the Company has the right to ensure that it retains those employees whose skill and diligence are important to the business' success.
(b) The Company shall comply with the following procedure. At each stage selection will be at the Company’s sole discretion:
(1) In the event of redundancies Management will call for volunteers from all shifts within the section/department concerned.
(2) If (1) above does not yield sufficient or appropriate suitable candidates, volunteers will be invited from all shifts in all sections/departments.
(3) If (1) and (2) above do not meet Company requirements management will nominate those to be made redundant based on skills, diligence and requirements of the business.
Selection of Redundant Employees. Consultation will take place between the parties when the list of redundant employees is being formulated. Employees will only be considered for a voluntary redundancy if they have put in an expression of interest. Expressions of interest will be made on a without prejudice basis and it shall be at the employees discretion whether or not they choose to accept a redundancy. Should volunteers come forward they will be considered on their merit but the Association reserves the right to ensure the preservation of appropriate skills and qualifications for future success of the business.

Where the Company has notified employees of impending redundancies, it will initially consider applications for voluntary redundancy, provided a satisfactory balance of essential product knowledge, qualifications, work skills and experience can be maintained for the future success of the business.
Selection of Redundant Employees. (a) The Company will call for volunteers on a Department basis. If volunteers are not forthcoming, redundant employees will be selected on the basis of:
(i) skills required for the ongoing viability of the Orange plant, and
(ii) length of service with the Company.
(b) Skill assessment and length of service criteria will be discussed with employees prior to redundancies occurring.

Where there are insufficient volunteers. acceptable to the Company, to meet the agreed redundancy requirements, KONE Elevators will select employees to be made redundant on the basis of maintaining the necessary skills mix to meet the Company's business and operational requirements.

However, the Company reserves the right to select employees for retrenchment or continued employment based on skills required for the operation of the establishment.

Selection of Redundant Employees. It is recognised that the Company must retain a workforce which contains the skills necessary to remain competitive in the marketplace. The following will apply to selection of personnel for redundancy: the Company will advise the necessary number of redundancies; the Company will conduct the selection against an objective selection criteria determined by the Company; and the Company will take into consideration individual preferences, however the Company retains the rights to accept or reject any offer of voluntary retrenchment based on necessary skills and experience required and the needs of the business. Notice period Those people who will become redundant will be given 4 weeks notice and 4 weeks severance. During this period the Company may allow time off to attend job interviews, career and financial counselling. At the same time all people must realise that CCA has a business to run and the spirit will need to be one of understanding and cooperation. Normally the Company would expect people to remain during their notice, however effort may be made to release people early to take up alternative employment or because of very special personal circumstances.
