Serious Illness in Immediate Family. When the teacher's presence is necessary, up to ten (10) days per school year of the accumulated sick leave allowance may be used when a serious illness in the immediate family requires the teacher's presence, as certified in writing by a doctor, unless deemed unnecessary by the Principal or designee. The immediate family shall include father, mother, spouse, children, and any other person who has established legal residence in the teacher's household. No more than four (4) days may be used in a single week without prior administrative approval.
Serious Illness in Immediate Family. In the event that an administrator has used all of their accumulated and allowable emergency days, then up to two (2) additional days may be granted for a serious illness in the immediate family.

Serious Illness in Immediate Family. An employee will be allowed five (5) working days per calendar year with pay, not to be deducted from sick leave for serious family illness of the employee's spouse or child. Normally serious illness shall not include things like colds, flu, chicken pox, measles, etc. Leave shall be documented by doctor or hospital staff.
Serious Illness in Immediate Family. Any day for serious illness in the immediate family unused as of the end of the workday on June 30 will, at the employee’s option, be credited either as sick leave days or paid out at a rate of $60 per day. In the event of serious illness in the employee’s immediate family, as defined below, the employee will be allowed leave of up to three (3) paid days per year. Any request for an extension of the leave of absence will be considered by the Superintendent considering the circumstances.
