Employees on unpaid union leave may utilize any earned PTO or vacation hours while on leave,. Nothing in this article shall be interpreted to limit use of earned and accrued paid time off granted to employees when resident care is not compromised., and in accordance with Article 14, section E: Scheduled PTO.

  • Extended Unpaid Maternity Leave (a) An employee is entitled to apply for leave without pay following Maternity Leave (“extended unpaid Maternity Leave”) to extend their leave by up to two years.

  • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).

  • Extended Unpaid Leave Upon written request, a permanent employee who has completed two (2) years of service shall be granted unpaid leave to a maximum of twelve (12) months, subject to the operational requirements of the Employer's operations and the availability of qualified replacement staff. An employee shall be entitled to up to a maximum of twelve (12) months unpaid leave for each two (2) years of service with the understanding that no employee can have more than twelve (12) consecutive months of unpaid leave at any one time. While on such leave employees shall continue to accumulate service, unless they would have been otherwise laid off, for seniority purposes only. The minimum amount of unpaid leave an employee may have under this Clause is eight (8) weeks. An employee will not be granted extended unpaid leave to take another position with the same Employer whether inside or outside a bargaining unit.

  • Unpaid Leave - Union Business (a) Short-term leave of absence without pay to a maximum of fourteen (14) days at one time shall be granted to employees designated by the Union to transact Union business including conventions and conferences unless this would unduly interrupt the operation of the department provided, however, that these designated employees shall be paid by the Employer for time lost in attending meetings during working hours whenever their attendance is requested by the Employer. The Union shall give reasonable notice to minimize disruption of the department and the Union shall make every effort to give a minimum of seven (7) days' notice.

  • Scheduled Unpaid Leave Plan The following Scheduled Unpaid Leave Plan (SULP) is available to all permanent employees for the 2020-2021, and 2021-2022 school years. Employees approved for SULP days shall not be replaced. For employees who work a ten (10) month year a school board will identify:

  • Short-Term Unpaid Leave Up to two days of unpaid leave may be granted for extenuating circumstances that are deemed to be unavoidable by the administration. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office.   • CHECK-OFF UNION DUES 5.1 The Corporation shall, subject to the conditions and exceptions set forth hereunder, deduct on the payroll for the first pay period of each month from wages due and payable to each employee coming within the scope of this Collective Agreement, an amount equal to the prevailing monthly dues of the Union and shall remit the same by cheque (accompanied by a statement of deductions from individuals) to the Union Local Secretary- Treasurer, not later than twenty (20) days following the pay period in which the deductions are made.
