Snow Plow Service. Locomotive engineers assigned to snow plow service will receive one day's pay for each 24 hours held and not used. Work Train Service
Snow Plow Service. SECTION 1, (a) Engineers used in rotary snow plow service and engineers on engines pushing rotary or wedge plows, or in flagging service, shall be paid freight rates as per weight of engine and district, eight hours or less, 100 miles or less, constitute a day. On runs of over 100 miles, overtime will begin when the time on duty exceeds the miles run, divided by 12 1/2. Overtime shall be paid for on minute basis at an hourly rate of three- sixteenths of the dally rate, according to weight of engine or other power used. If used out of tie-up point or terminal after expiration of eight hours, will begin a new day. NOTE: It is understood that engineers operating rotary will be paid same rate as engineer pushing rotary.
Snow Plow Service. 2.1 Locomotive engineers assigned to snow plow service will receive one day's pay for each 24 hours held and not used. Work Train Service
2.2 Except as provided in article 8, locomotive engineers assigned to work train service will be allowed a basic day at minimum through freight rates for each 24 hours held and not used. Monthly Guarantee for Assigned Road Service
2.3 Locomotive engineers on assigned runs not able to make 3000 miles per month will be paid 3000 miles per month or their proportion thereof if they do not work a full month but may be held to that extent provided such service is not in yard service. Where agreed between the appropriate local officer of the Company and the local chairman, runs less than 3000 miles per month may be established because of local conditions and will not be governed by this paragraph.
2.4 Where conditions necessitate more than one locomotive engineer being assigned to a run, the 3000 miles referred to will apply to each assignment. This does not in any way debar an assignment being made to one or more runs.
2.5 Locomotive engineers on passenger assignments between Jasper and Prince Xxxxxx will be guaranteed the equivalent of 3300 miles per month. Extended Runs 2.6
(a) An employee who is available for duty on runs identified
(b) In the application of (a) above, in the event the employee fails to protect service, or misses a tour or tours in the exercise of seniority, the guarantee will be reduced proportionately to the number of tours the employee would have been required to make his/her monthly maximum for each tour of duty missed. For spare board employees, the guarantee will be reduced proportionately by the number of miles in road service for each tour of duty the employee would have earned had he/she been available, and for each call missed. An employee on the spare board who misses more than 2 calls during the 14 day period will not be entitled to any guarantee unless the calls missed were for reasons satisfactory to the proper officer of the Company. Note: The intent of providing a guarantee in extended run territory is to ensure employees do not lose earnings solely as a result of extended runs. Therefore, an employee’s guarantee will not be reduced if it can be demonstrated that the e mployee maximized his/her earnings.
(c) When a yard service employee is not promoted to road service as a result of a shortage of employees at that terminal and adjacent terminals are required to supplement employees for board...
Snow Plow Service. Engineers engaged in bucking snow with snow plows will be paid one and one-half hourly rates according to class of engine used with a minimum of through freight rates for distance run. Engineers called to xxxx xxxx and held on duty under orders will be paid hourly rates while so held for such service. If laid up and relieved from duty but held for service under this rule they will be paid not less than a minimum day at classification rates for each 24-hour period so held. When snow plow service is double crewed for bucking snow, each engineer will be paid for all time so assigned at pro rata rates, except the engineer working will be paid in accordance with this rule. If used to operate rotary snow plow they will be paid under the provisions of this rule at rates applying on O-2 engines. When an engine is uncoupled from its train and helps another train over a hill or when a train doubles a hill, the actual miles made will be added to actual mileage of trip. In ordering engineers out of their terminals it is understood that the reporting time will govern in the application of the first-in, first-out rule. Except when necessary to deadhead one or more engineers in freight service, the engineer first out will deadhead and the engineer second out will handle the train. The engineer deadheading will stand ahead of engineer running train for further duties at objective terminal.
