Substitute Holiday. Employees in paid status who are not scheduled to work on a holiday shall be given holiday credit which must be taken at a time mutually agreed upon by the supervisor and employee.

Substitute Holiday. Where the public holiday falls on a non-working day, HOOPP will observe that holiday on another day, consistent with community practice, and if no such practice exists, on a day designated by the employer.
Substitute Holiday. 12.6.1 If the District requires any employee to work a work week other than Monday through Friday, or if such employee consents to a work week including Saturday or Sunday or both, and as a result thereof, the employee loses a holiday to which they would otherwise be entitled, the District shall provide a substitute holiday for such employee or provide compensation in the amount to which the employee would have been entitled had the holiday fallen within their normal work schedule. 12.6.2 Employees with less than a 100 percent assignment shall be entitled to all holidays provided in this Agreement. If the employee is scheduled to work on the declared holiday, the number of hours the employee will be entitled to is the number of hours the employee is scheduled to work. If the declared holiday is on a day the employee is not scheduled to work, a substitute holiday shall be given to the employee calculated on the basis of the overall percentage of the employee’s assignment based on an 8-hour day, or the District shall provide compensation for the substitute holiday to the employee. 12.6.3 In consultation with the supervisor, the unit employee may elect to have the substitute holiday preceding the scheduled holiday or immediately following the scheduled holiday.
Substitute Holiday. If a classified employee works a workweek other than Monday through Friday and as a result loses a holiday to which he/she would otherwise be entitled, the District will provide a substitute holiday of eight (8) hours for a one hundred (100) percent assignment (prorated for part-time monthly assignments) or eight (8) hours of compensation (prorated for part-time monthly assignments) to which the employee would have been entitled had the holiday fallen within the employee's normal work schedule. A substitute holiday must be used within twelve (12) months after the time was earned.

Substitute Holiday. An employee required to work a workweek which causes the loss of a holiday to which he/she would otherwise have been entitled shall be assigned a substitute day off within five (5) days of the holiday; the substitute day off to be mutually agreed upon by the employee and the first level manager.

  • Legal Holiday If the date on which any payment is due shall not be a Business Day, then (notwithstanding any other provision of the Notes or this Indenture) payment need not be made on such date but may be made on the next succeeding Business Day with the same force and effect as if made on the date on which nominally due, and no interest shall accrue for the period from and after any such nominal date.

  • Sunday Employees at the Maine State Prison shall be eligible for a weekend differential of fifty cents ($.50) per hour to the base for shifts beginning between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 8:29 p.m. Sunday.

  • Saturday Sunday and designated paid holidays shall not be counted in determining the time within which any action is to be taken or completed under the grievance procedure.

  • Work on a Holiday Employees required to work on days recognized as holidays which fall within their regular work schedules shall be entitled, in addition to their regular monthly salary, to compensatory time off, or to be paid in cash as provided in Articles 32.1-32.5 (Overtime). Compensatory time off or cash paid for all time worked shall be at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½). The rate at which an employee shall be paid for working on a holiday shall not exceed the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) his/her straight time rate of pay.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.

  • Federal Holidays The Employee shall be entitled to federal holidays per calendar year. This is subject to change by the Employer from time to time. If for any reason the Employee should request a Federal Holiday off, the Employer shall determine if the Employee may do so and if it shall be taken from either the Employee’s Personal Leave or Vacation Time. Federal Holidays are determined by the Employer and may change every calendar year.

  • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • Working on a Holiday An employee who is required to work on a holiday shall be paid at the rate of straight time plus time and one-half (1 1/2).
