Suspension Procedures. Where the Company considers that an allegation of Serious Misconduct is sufficiently serious to warrant it, an Employee may be suspended without pay. This suspension shall be imposed in the presence of a witness (who may be the Union Delegate) nominated by the Employee, when a Written Notice of Suspension shall be issued to the Employee. The suspended Employee shall sign the Notice and leave the premises immediately. The period of the suspension shall be only to cover the period reasonably necessary for the formal and thorough investigation by the Operations manager. Normally this should occur by the next working day or shift. At any meetings or interviews conducted during the formal investigation by the Company, the Employee shall have the right to have the Union Organiser and/or Delegate to assist and represent him/her. Following the formal investigation process, the Operations Manager shall interview the Employee and advise him/her the outcome of the Company's investigations. If the Company finds that there was no serious misconduct or that the conduct was too minor to warrant suspension, the Employee shall be paid the appropriate rate for the working time lost as a result of his/her suspension.
Suspension Procedures. The D/FA shall notify a Pool Assembler by cer- tified mail, return receipt requested, of the decision to suspend and the reasons therefore at least 10 business days prior to the effective date of the suspension. The Pool Assembler may appeal the suspension made under this section pursuant to the procedures set forth in part 134 of this chapter. The action of the D/FA shall remain in effect pending resolution of the appeal.
Suspension Procedures. 17.4.1 The Superintendent, or designee, shall give written notice to the unit member of the District’s intent to suspend the unit member. 17.4.2 The notice shall include the cause(s) on which the suspension is to be based, the date(s) on which the suspension shall take place, a statement that the unit member has a right to discuss the proposed suspension with the Superintendent or designee prior to the suspension, and a proposed date, time and place for such pre-suspension discussion. 17.4.3 The unit member shall have five (5) working days in which to respond to the notice of suspension. If the unit member does not respond, the District will schedule the suspension and provide notice thereof to the unit member. The unit member’s response to the notice of suspension, if any, shall confirm the proposed date and time for the pre-suspension discussion or waive such discussion. The pre-suspension discussion, unless waived, shall take place within five (5) school days from the date of the notice. 17.4.4 The unit member shall be given the opportunity to present facts and arguments regarding the proposed suspension and to be represented at the pre-suspension discussion. 17.4.5 The Superintendent or designee shall inform the unit member of the decision to suspend or not to suspend within three (3) working days from the date of the pre-suspension discussion or after five (5) days from the date of the notice of suspension if the unit member did not respond. 17.4.6 The District shall schedule the suspension.

Suspension Procedures. 50.2.1 Where the company considers a breach of discipline is sufficiently serious to warrant it, a company representative may suspend an employee without pay. The suspension shall be imposed in the presence of a Union representative and the suspended employee shall clock-off and leave the plant immediately. 50.2.2 The period of such initial suspension shall be only to cover the interval needed for the arranging of a formal hearing by the Production Manager (or a nominee). Normally this is held on the next day for shift workers, or it may have to be on the next working day for day workers. 50.2.3 Arrangements for such formal hearing will be made through the Department Head and the employee shall have the right to have an official of the Union present to represent or assist them at the hearing. 50.2.4 If the Production Manager (or a nominee) finds that there was no breach of discipline or that the breach was too minor to warrant suspension then the employee shall be paid the appropriate rate for the working time lost as a result of the suspension. 50.2.5 If the Production Manager finds the breach has occurred, the Production Manager (or a nominee) may in lieu of other disciplining action, suspend the employee without pay for a specified period, subject to agreement with the Union. 50.2.6 Any decision by the Production Manager may be over-ruled or varied by senior management. 50.2.7 The Union may appeal to senior management against any suspension imposed by the Production Manager in the same way it may against any other disciplinary action.
