Crewing. The Managers agree that having a well-trained and qualified vessel crew and shoreside support staff, well versed in LNG vessel operations and management, is the foundation of a safe, reliable, and efficient LNG vessel operation. · The Managers agree to adhere to the Training Matrix, and also agree that if the Training Matrix conflicts with less stringent standards contained in this Agreement, the Training Matrix will control. · Managers shall arrange for all Deck Officers, including the Master, to attend Bridge Team Management Training at one of the recognized training centers. This training shall be repeated every five (5) calendar years. · Managers are required to ensure that all Masters have attended a ship handling simulator-training course applicable for the type of vessel in use for LNG transportation. The training shall be repeated at a minimum of every five (5) calendar years. · In addition to the requirements of the Management Agreement, all senior operational positions (Master, Chief Engineer, Chief Mate, and Second Engineers, Cargo Engineer) on board must have a minimum of three (3) years of sea time (time onboard) experience onboard LNG Carriers in any position in the position directly below the senior operational position they will assume. All senior operational positions must receive a minimum of two (2) weeks vessel familiarization and specific operational training, with a training scope appropriate to their position, prior to embarking onboard the Vessel for the first time. Any deviation from this section’s experience requirement must be approved by Owner. · All officers and unlicensed crew on board require, as a minimum, specific training on the hazards and unique operational aspects associated with LNG carriers that meet the requirements of Section A-V/l paragraphs 1-7 of the STCW 1995 convention. All licensed officers that form part of the cargo transfer watch or carry out operational or maintenance duties and responsibilities directly related to the vessel’s cargo system shall also receive specific training meeting the requirements of Section A-V/l paragraphs 22-34 of the STCW 1995 convention. Crewing. The number of Employees hired on a production shall be commensurate with the character of the work to be done, with the shooting schedule, and with the type and amount of equipment to be employed.
Crewing. 3.1.1 The Managers shall provide suitably qualified crew for the Vessel in accordance with current STCW requirements, provision of which includes but is not limited to the following functions: - (i) selecting and engaging Master, officers and ratings (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Crew"); where the Owners make a complaint about any member of the Crew the Managers will promptly investigate the same and if it proves to be justified, replace the Crew member concerned as soon as practicable; (ii) ensuring that the applicable requirements of the law of the flag of the Vessel are satisfied in respect of xxxxxxx levels, rank, qualification and certification of the Crew, and employment regulations including Crew’s tax, social insurance, discipline and other requirements; (iii) ensuring that all members of the Crew have passed a medical examination with a qualified doctor certifying that they are fit for the duties for which they are engaged and are in possession of valid medical certificates which are valid for the duration of their service onboard the Vessel and issued in accordance with appropriate flag state requirements; (iv) arranging transportation of the Crew, including repatriation; (v) supervising the efficiency of the Crew and using the Manager’s standard crew appraisal system (written or electronic) and administration of all other Crew matters such as planning for the xxxxxxx of the Vessel; (vi) making payroll arrangements, including settling xxxxxxx and agency expenses for the xxxxxxx agents in the Crew's country of origin and, if applicable, payment of Severance Costs; (vii) if requested by the Owners, conducting union negotiations and making agreed payments to unions; (viii) operating the Managers' Drug and Alcohol Policy; (ix) arranging Crew training in accordance with STCW (and as provided for in the budget), records of such training being maintained in the Manager’s standard format.
Crewing a) Xxxxxxx shall remain as in effect during the last agreement unless vessels are taken out of operation, changed from watchkeeping to shift vessels, or vice-versa, reconverted or where there is mutual agreement to change between the Company and the Union. Vessels taken out of operations and returned to operations without change shall carry the same number of crew as when the vessel paid off. Where vessels are changed to watch-keeping or shift operations, or vice-versa, they shall carry the same number of crew as vessels of equal characteristics. If there are no such watchkeeping or shift vessels, whichever is the case, in service at the time of the change, the parties shall endeavour to reach agreement on crew size in accordance with the provisions of Section (b) of this Article. For the purpose of this Agreement, converted or reconverted vessels shall be classed as new vessels. For the purposes of this Agreement, the term "xxxxxxx scale" shall mean the number of Unlicensed Personnel on the vessel customarily carried in the area in which the vessel is operating.
b) In the xxxxxxx of new ships, vessels and equipment, the parties agree that the governing factors shall be to provide crew complements of a size and quality sufficient to meet the requirements of the operations efficiently, safely, and within the terms of this Agreement.
c) The following rules shall be applied to determine the crew of a tug from the point of view of maintaining a safe and efficient operation at all times:
(i) The crew of any commercially operated tug shall be a minimum of two (2) men including one (1) unlicensed seamen.
(ii) The xxxxxxx of a tug shall allow for two (2) men being available to the wheelhouse at all times the vessel is underway. This means one Deck Officer in charge, and one further person who shall be under the direct control of and readily available to assist the Officer in charge. Except in emergencies, the xxxx shall not be considered to be available to the wheelhouse. However, the duties of all crew members regardless of position shall come under the direct control of the Master.
(iii) Due to sea-going conditions and the exigencies of the service, overtime work is necessary from time to time. Such overtime work will be kept to a minimum and in no case barring emergencies will an employee work more than sixteen (16) hours overtime in any consecutive seven (7) day period. Crewing. In order to ensure the implementation of the 6-day schedule, the Company and the Union agree to review the appropriate staffing requirements and determine the number of postings and support postings required. The rules established will be built on the premise that the 4th crew will be a permanent posting. When the 6-day schedule finishes and the crews return to a 5x8 schedule, the most senior employees will fill the required shifts on the 5x8 schedule. The junior employees will be layed off. On the 6-day schedule, an employee will receive 40 hours pay for 36 hours worked on the employee’s regularly scheduled shift. This will be accomplished by paying the employee at the regular straight time rate of pay, plus a premium, for each hour worked on the 6-day schedule. All hours worked outside of the regularly scheduled 6-day schedule shifts will be paid at overtime rates per the Collective Agreement, namely: double the regular straight time of pay (2x) on Sundays, and time and one half (1.5x) the regular straight time of pay for any other hour worked. For clarity, “regular straight time of pay” does not include any 6-day schedule premium. Crewing. 9.1 The Employer will notify the Business Agent of the number of employees needed to work as early as possible. If the Union is unable to supply sufficient qualified workers as required by the Employer then the Employer may secure from any source such number of persons as may be required, provided however, the Employer has given the Union a minimum of twelve (12) hours notice in which to fill the call. In addition, the Employer may reject, in writing, particular individuals whom the Employer has determined are not competent based on previous employment by the Employer. The Employer may request specific Employees that have had a history of competent employment with the Employer
9.2 The First person called to work in either the Wardrobe department and/or the Make-up and Wigs department will be considered the Head of that department.
9.3 Employees covered under this Agreement will not unreasonably refuse to assist Employees in other departments.
Crewing. (only applicable if 2.3.
(i) agreed according to Box 5) The Managers shall provide adequate and properly qualified Crew for the Vessel as required by the Owners, provision of which includes but is not limited to the following functions:
(i) employment of Master, officers and crew (hereinafter collectively referred to as "the Crew") of the Vessel;
(ii) arrangement of transportation of the Crew, including repatriation;
(iii) training of the Crew;
(iv) supervision of the efficiency of the Crew and administration of all other crew matters such as planning for the manning of the Vessel;
(v) payroll arrangement;
(vi) arrangement anx xxxxxistration of pensions and Crew insurance;
(vii) discipline and union negotiations;
(viii) enforcement of appropriate standing orders.
Crewing. The minimum xxxxxxx shall be one Chief Engineer, one First Engineer and one Second Engineer. Where the established xxxxxxx includes an Electrical Engineer Officer and/or an ETO then the xxxxxxx will include these personnel.

3.1.1 The Managers shall provide suitably qualified crew for the Vessel and its trade as required by the Owners in accordance with current STCW requirements as agents for and on behalf of the Owners, provision of which includes but is not limited to the following functions: (i) select and engage Master, officers and crew (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Crew"); where the Owners make a complaint about any member of the Crew the Managers will promptly investigate the same and if it proves to be justified, replace the Crew member concerned as soon as practicable;
Crewing. Minimum crewing levels in this Schedule are indicative and will be subject to operational requirements and the Vessel’s SMC. (i) Where there is an issue raised on the Vessel with the operational crewing, the issue will be dealt with in accordance with the Dispute Resolution Procedure.
(ii) The above table provides the minimum crewing levels required for 24-hour operations.
(iii) The crewing levels are total for the Vessel compliment, regardless of the Employer.
(iv) Where the Employer or ship operator requires the Master to perform administrative duties which does not allow the Master to be part of the watch- keeping roster on an equal basis, then the Employer will consider carriage of an additional Second Officer will be carried. The Employer recognises the benefits of training Deck Officer Cadets. Cadets will fall into one of two classifications of Deck Officer Cadet:
(a) An Advanced Standing Cadet.
(b) A Deck Cadet (cadet).
