Taking carer’s leave. To be entitled to carer’s leave an employee must • Provide notice to the employer of the absence as soon as reasonably practicable to do so in accordance with the Workplace Relations Act. • Provide the employer with satisfactory documentary evidence of the basis for the request for leave in accordance with the Workplace Relations Act including providing a medical certificate from a registered health practitioner or a statutory declaration made by the employee that the leave was required to provide care or support to a member of the employee’s immediate family, or a member of the employee’s household, who requires (or required) care or support because of:

Taking carer’s leave. (a) Accrued carer’s leave may be taken to care for a member of your Close or Extended Family or Household, where such care is necessary and you are responsible for their care.
(b) If you have exhausted your accrued carer’s leave entitlements, you may take unpaid carer’s leave for a particular permissible occasion as a continuous period of two (2) days or on separate days as agreed between you and ALDI.
Taking carer’s leave. 11.13.1. To be entitled to take carers leave (paid or unpaid), an employee shall advise the Company as soon as reasonably practical of their inability to attend work in order to provide care and support to an immediate family or household member.
11.13.2. Whenever possible the employee should advise the Company at least two (2) hours prior to the commencement of their shift and indicate the expected duration of their absence.
11.13.3. For all absences the employee shall provide the following documentation to the Company as required by their Manager / Supervisor:
a) In the case of illness or injury of a member of the employees’ immediate family or household: • a medical certificate indicating that a member of the employees’ immediate family or household has / has had / will have an illness or injury during a period of carers leave; or • a statutory declaration which includes a statement that they require / required leave to provide care and support to a member of the employee’s immediate family or household because of illness or injury.
b) In the case of an unexpected emergency, a statutory declaration which includes a statement that the employee requires / required leave to provide care and support to a member of the employees immediate family or household because of an unexpected emergency affecting that person.
11.13.4. The Company may require the employee to provide satisfactory proof of the relationship between the employee and the person for whom they are required to provide care and support.
Taking carer’s leave. (i) You may use any accrued personal leave to care or support for a member of your immediate family, or a member of your household, who requires care and support
(ii) If you take carer's leave you should notify Redpath as soon as possible of your intention to take carer’s leave in accordance with relevant Site procedures.
(iii) In order to access xxxxx's leave you may be required to provide satisfactory evidence of the reason for taking leave (for example a medical certificate for the person who requires care would be satisfactory evidence).
