Training and Employment. Opportunities for Residents in the Project Area (Section 3, HUD Act of 1968; 24 CFR 135)
(a) The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u (section 3). The purpose of section 3 is to ensure that employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD-assisted projects covered by section 3, shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low- and very low-income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing.
(b) The parties to this contract agree to comply with HUD's regulations in 24 CFR Part 135, which implement section 3. As evidenced by their execution of this contract, the parties to this contract certify that they are under no contractual or other impediment that would prevent them from complying with the Part 135 regulations.
(c) The contractor agrees to send to each labor organization or representative of workers with which the contractor has a collective bargaining agreement or other understanding, if any, a notice advising the labor organization or workers' representative of the contractor's commitments under this section 3 clause, and will post copies of the notice in conspicuous places at the work site where both employees and applicants for training and employment positions can see the notice. The notice shall describe the section 3 preference, shall set forth minimum number and job titles subject to hire, availability of apprenticeship and training positions, the qualifications for each; and the name and location of the person(s) taking applications for each of the positions; and the anticipated date the work shall begin.
(d) The contractor agrees to include this section 3 clause in every subcontract subject to compliance with regulations in 24 CFR Part 135, and agrees to take appropriate action, as provided in an applicable provision of the subcontract or in this section 3 clause, upon a finding that the subcontractor is in violation of the regulations in 24 CFR Part 135. The contractor will not subcontract with any subcontractor where the contractor has notice or knowledge that the subcontractor has been found in violation of the regulations in 24 CFR Part 135.
(e) Noncompliance with HUD's regulations in 24 CFR Part 135 may result in sanctions, termination of this contract for default, and debarment or suspension from future HUD assisted contracts

Training and Employment. 19.1 Operator on behalf of Contractor agrees to employ to the maximum extent possible qualified nationals of Pakistan in its Petroleum Operations and to provide their schooling and training for staff positions, including administrative and executive management positions. Operator will require Subcontractors operating in Pakistan to do the same. Operator undertakes to gradually replace its expatriate staff with qualified nationals as they become available. An annual programme for employment and training of nationals of Pakistan shall be established by Contractor and submitted for approval to the DGPC. Such programme shall be included in the annual work programme and budget. Within thirty (30) Days of the end of each Calendar Year, Contractor shall submit a written report to DGPC describing, inter alia, the number of personnel employed, their nationality and positions and the status of training programmes for nationals of Pakistan.
19.2 Operator on behalf of Contractor shall also be required to establish a programme, satisfactory to the Government to train personnel of the DGPC, GHPL and the Government locally and abroad to develop the capability of such personnel to effectively perform their duties. Such training programme shall cover both technical and management disciplines (including but not limited to geology, geophysics, engineering, project management, accounting, economics and legal) and shall include on-the-job training and participation in in-house seminars.
19.3 From the Effective Date and up to the date of Commercial Discovery the Contractor shall, subject to the guidelines issued by the Government from time to time, spend a minimum of fifty thousand United States Dollars (U.S. $50,000) per year during exploration phase and during development and production phase a minimum of two hundred fifty thousand United States Dollars (US$ 250,000) per year on training. This Expenditure will be subject to upward review from time to time. The unspent training amount during a year, unless agreed otherwise, shall be deposited into a special account maintained for the purpose by the DGPC.
19.4 Contractor shall associate and involve a mutually agreed number of GHPL personnel in the technological aspects of the then ongoing Petroleum Operations without charging any fee for such association or involvement.

Preference will be given to employment of nationals and unskilled workers from the Area. The Operator will require its contractors and subcontractors, operating in Pakistan, to do the same. The Operator undertakes to gradually replace its expatriate staff with qualified nationals as they become available. Training and Employment. 17.1 The Operator agrees to employ qualified nationals of Pakistan in its Joint Operations and, to undertake their schooling and training for staff positions, including administrative and executive management positions. Preference will be given to employment of nationals and unskilled workers from the Area. The operator including its contractor(s) shall ensure the employment of unskilled workers of the area, at local/district level, to the extent of at-least 50% of their unskilled workers category. The Operator undertakes to gradually replace its expatriate staff with qualified nationals as they become available. An annual programme for employment and training of nationals of Pakistan shall be established by the Operator and submitted for approval to the Director General, Petroleum Concessions at least (90) Days in advance. Training and Employment. 18.1 Licensee agrees to train and employ suitably qualified Ugandan citizens in its Petroleum Operations and, following the commencement of Commercial Production, to undertake the schooling and training of Ugandan citizens for staff positions, including administrative and executive management positions. Licensee will also require its Contractors to do the same. Licensee undertakes to gradually replace its expatriate staff with suitably qualified and experienced Ugandan citizens as are then
18.2 Licensee shall also be required to establish an annual programme, satisfactory to the Government, to train personnel of the Government to undertake skilled and technical jobs in Petroleum Operations.
18.3 Licensee shall deposit with government, or its Nominee, upon the delivery of the Bank Guarantee and each anniversary of the Effective Date thereafter, the following amounts for training of Government personnel selected by the Government and other associated costs for each twelve (12) Calendar Months period-First Exploration Period US $ 200,000.00 per 12 months. Second Exploration Period US $ 200,000.00 per 12 months. Third Exploration Period US $ 200,000.00 per 12 months. Following commercial production US $ 400,000.00 per 12 months.
18.4 Subject to the provisions of paragraph 18.1, Licensee shall be free to employ foreign nationals to the extent that suitably qualified and experienced Ugandan nationals cannot be found to fill a position.
Training and Employment. 3.4.1 The Parties intend that:
a) awareness of Thaidene Nëné employment opportunities and the associated competencies will be fostered among the Łutsël K’e Denesǫłine;
b) Łutsël K’e Denesǫłine will have the capacity to secure and retain employment at all levels of the management and operation of Thaidene Nëné; and
c) training of Łutsël K’e Denesǫłine for Thaidene Nëné employment will be an ongoing and continuous commitment.
Training and Employment. CONTRACTOR hereby certifies that no participant shall be trained or employed at worksites that are involved in partisan or non-partisan political activities.
Training and Employment. The Company shall comply with provisions for training, employment, and contracting in accordance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 USC 1701u).
Training and Employment. (a) The receiving state shall afford inmates from the sending state the opportunity to participate in programs of occupational training and industrial or other work on the same basis as inmates of the receiving state. Compensation in connection with such participation (whether payment of money, intangible incentives, or other therapeutic or rehabilitative reason) will be paid to inmates of the sending state on the same basis as to inmates of the receiving state.
(b) The receiving state may dispose of all products produced by any inmate of the sending state while participating in such training or employment, and the receiving state shall bear all costs and retain all proceeds therefrom.
(c) In the case of craft programs, the inmate may dispose of the products of their labor and retain the proceeds of any sale of his or her work in accordance with the rules of the receiving state.
