UNION REPRESENTATION AND VISITATION. 7.01 The City recognizes the right of the Union to designate a job xxxxxxx or alternate from amongst the employees of the City at the location(s) covered hereunder, and the Union shall advise the City of such designation.
UNION REPRESENTATION AND VISITATION. Where it is necessary to ascertain whether or not this Agreement is being observed by the parties, or where it is necessary that the Union staff member(s) converse with an off-duty or on-duty employee in the Hospital, the Employer agrees to provide for the release of the employee from normal work duties to meet privately with the Union staff member(s) for a reasonable amount of time as soon as necessary arrangements can be made. The Employer has the right to designate a meeting place and/or to provide a representative to accompany the Union staff member(s) if operational requirements do not permit unlimited access to that part of the premises where the meeting is to take place. The Union staff member(s) shall give the Human Resources Department reasonable advance notice of the need for visitation. All other Union business will be conducted off the premises of the Employer except for meetings in the meeting room provided for in Section 5.

UNION REPRESENTATION AND VISITATION. (14) The City recognizes the right of the Union to select Officers, Stewards, and Alternate Stewards, to represent the employees, upon request, on grievances concerning the interpretation or application of this Contract. The Officers, Stewards, and Alternate Stewards, shall process grievances with proper regard for the City’s operational needs and work requirements, and shall cooperate in good faith with the City in keeping to a minimum the time lost from work due to grievance handling. If the Xxxxxxx or Officer fails or refuses to comply with this requirement, the City retains the right to impose disciplinary action. The Alternate Xxxxxxx shall act as Xxxxxxx when the Xxxxxxx is absent from work, so that the Union at all times has a Xxxxxxx or Alternate Xxxxxxx in each of the locations. If necessary, a Local Union Officer may act in place of a Xxxxxxx. The City shall not transfer Officers or Stewards from their respective departments and their respective shifts during their terms of office without the mutual consent of the City and the Union.

  • UNION REPRESENTATION 3.01 For the purpose of representation with the Employer, the Union shall function and be recognized as follows:

  • ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION a) The Employer agrees to recognize a committee of five employees consisting of the President of the local, two (2) part time employees, and two (2) full time employees to negotiate amendments or renewals to this agreement, The Employer agrees to recognize elected Union stewards to assist employees in the presentation of any grievance that properly arises under the provisions of this agreement. The Union agrees to provide the Employer with lists of these stewards and any changes to this list as necessary. The Employer shall recognize up to four (4) employees plus the president of Local to act as Union representatives to the full-time and part-time Employee Relations Committee. It is understood that the committee shall meet periodically at the request of either party. Employees serving on the Employee Relations Committee or any Committee established to address issues of joint concern shall be paid at their regular rate of pay up to or hours per pay period or lieu time in excess of this (as per article a) and for time spent attending the Employee Relations Committee meetings. Part time employees will be paid at least the minimum shift at straight time Employees serving on the Union's Negotiating Committee shall be paid for lost time from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay, in direct contract negotiations, up to the point of arbitration, for renewal of this Collective Agreement. Upon reference to arbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off with no loss of credits or benefits for the purpose of attending Arbitration Hearings. The Union shall advise the Employer, in writing, the names of its committee. The Employer shall not be obliged to recognize committee members until such time as written notice has been received. The Area Representative may attend meetings at the invitation of the local Union. A representative from may assist in negotiations.

  • Union Representation Rights 1. The interpretation and application of the provisions of this Award shall be grievable under Article 15. Any such grievance may be introduced at Step B and shall be subject to priority arbitration.
