Use of Sick Leave for Family Illness. 14.1.18.1 Unit members shall be entitled to use on an annual b a s i s ( each school year) the number of sick leave days they would accrue during a six- month period to attend to the illness, medical and/or dental appointments of a child, parent or spouse of the employee. Use of Sick Leave for Family Illness. A unit member may use sick leave to care for a child, parent, spouse or domestic partner who is sick pursuant to definitions and requirements of Labor Code section 233.5.
Use of Sick Leave for Family Illness. A unit member may use sick leave to care for a child, parent, spouse or domestic partner who is sick. Personal Necessity Leave - may be used at the employee's election, for purposes of personal necessity, not to exceed seven (7) days in any school year. The unit member shall not be required to disclose the reason for the personal necessity leave. The Superintendent or designee has the right to require employee verification of the use of personal necessity leave per Education Code section 44981. Under all circumstances, an employee shall verify in writing that personal necessity was not used for vacation, recreation, seeking or engaging in other employment, or for concerted activities against the District.
Use of Sick Leave for Family Illness. Absence due to the serious illness of a principal’s spouse, certified permanent member of household, child, parent, spouse’s parent or xxxxxx parent shall be allowed and charged to sick leave.
Use of Sick Leave for Family Illness. Pursuant to the Washington Family Care Act, the District will allow employees to use sick leave to take care of a member of the employee’s immediate family where such illness is a serious health condition. For non-serious health conditions up to five (5) days of accumulated sick leave shall be granted for each occurrence where the employee’s attendance is medically necessary. Immediate family is defined as spouse, child, parent, stepparent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling or parent-in- law.
Use of Sick Leave for Family Illness. Up to thirty days of absence shall be allowed due to the serious illness of a teacher’s parent, xxxxxx parent, spouse’s parent or sibling. Such absence shall be charged to sick leave, subject to Subd. 5. Requests to use sick leave for others not listed above may be submitted to the superintendent or designee.
Use of Sick Leave for Family Illness. The sick leave referenced in Section 24.7.1 above, professional employees may use up to ten (10) days per year for illness of a member of the employee’s immediate family, as well as for other medical conditions of the employee’s immediate family requiring the presence of the employee. Member of the immediate family shall be defined as father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife, parent-in-law or near relative who resides in the same household, or any person with whom the employee has made his home.
