Work on Sundays. The employer must pay an employee who works on a Sunday: if the employee works for five hours or less, the employee’s ordinary daily wage; if the employee works for more than five hours, one and a half times the employee’s ordinary daily wage. Despite sub clause (1), an agreement may permit an employer to grant an employee who works on a Sunday paid time off equivalent to the difference in value between the pay received by the employee for working on the Sunday and the pay that the employee is entitled to in terms of sub clause (1). Any time worked on a Sunday by the employee who does not ordinarily work on a Sunday is not take into account in calculating an employee’s ordinary hours of work in terms of clause 5, but is taken into account in calculating the overtime worked by the employee in terms of clause 6. If a shift worked by the employee falls on a Sunday and another day, the whole shift is deemed to have been worked on the Sunday, unless the greater portion of the shift was worked on the other day, in which case the whole shift is deemed to have been worked on the other day.

Work on Sundays. (a) All hours worked by employees on a Sunday which are not related to the store opening for business and which are not part of an employee’s regular daily work schedule will be paid at double time (2x) the employee’s regular rate of pay. When this premium is paid, no other bonus or premium will apply to such hours worked. (b) i) All work on Sunday to be voluntary.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.
