Workshops and Training. Workshops and training shall be carried out on the basis of annual work programs which shall have been approved by the Association, and which shall identify: (a) the workshops or training envisaged; (b) the personnel to attend the workshop or to be trained; (c) the selection methods of institutions or individuals participating in the workshop or conducting the training; (d) the institutions which will facilitate the workshop or conduct the training, if already selected; (e) the duration of the proposed workshop or training; and (f) the cost estimate of the workshop or training.

Workshops and Training. 408.1 The Board will sponsor one (1) workshop for Teacher Assistants and Education Assistants per year - normally concurrent with a non-instructional day. In consultation with the Assistant Superintendent or designate, representatives from the Teacher Assistants and Education Assistants will meet to determine course content and to plan the program. Workshops will not normally be held on days when school is in session.
Workshops and Training. Workshops, exclusive of those offered at local, state, and national conferences, will be compensated at the following rate. Teachers taking approved workshop courses will be compensated at the rate of $32.44 per class hour. Effective July 1, 2012 teachers taking approved workshop courses will be compensated at the rate of $32.93 per class hour. Effective July 1, 2013 teachers taking approved workshop courses will be compensated at the rate of $33.34 per class hour. Payment for class hours will be made twice per year. Workshops/courses will be taken on a voluntary basis. All workshops/courses must receive prior approval by the Superintendent of schools.

  • Orientation and Training A transferring employee will be orientated separately to both or their new home in accordance with Article 20 the collective agreement of the designated employer.

It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available.   • Job Training The Employer and the Union shall establish a Joint Committee on Training and Skill Upgrading for the following purposes:

  • Driver Training A. All drivers are to be provided with appropriate training and refresher courses each year in the following areas as a minimum: * Proper use of equipment including communications equipment; * Defensive driving; * Emergency and accident procedures; * Identifying unusual passenger behavior; * Student harassment and bullying; * Conducting evacuation drills; * Sensitivity training in working with disabled persons; * Human relation skills in working with parents, school staff, etc; * General vehicle maintenance and pre-trip inspections; and * Map reading and city street coordinates. The Department of Business and Transportation Services may review Contractors’ bus driver training program, upon request.

  • Professional Development and Training 4.1 The purpose of professional development and training requirements for interpreters is to maintain the skill levels interpreters possess at the time they pass their interpreter certification examination, and to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.

  • STUDENTS AND TRAINEES 1. Payments which a student, business apprentice or trainee who is or was immediately before visiting a Contracting State a resident of the other Contracting State and who is present in the first-mentioned State solely for the purpose of his education or training receives for the purpose of his maintenance, education or training shall not be taxed in that State, provided that such payments arise from sources outside that State.
