Advance of Credits. Where an employee has insufficient credits to permit the granting of special leave within the meaning of this Article, leave up to a maximum of five (5) days may, at the discretion of the Employer, be granted, subject to the deduction of such advance leave from any special leave credits subsequently earned. Should the employee leave prior to earning sufficient credit, any outstanding leave paid shall be recovered.

Advance of Credits. When an employee has insufficient credits to cover granting of sick leave with pay under the provisions of clause 18.02, sick leave with pay may, at the discretion of the Council, be granted for a period of up to one hundred eighty-seven decimal five (187.5) working hours subject to the deduction of such advanced leave from any sick leave credits subsequently earned, or if an employee resigns the advanced leave shall be recovered by the Council by other means.
Advance of Credits. 33.3.1 When an employee has insufficient credits to cover the granting of sick leave with pay under the provisions of clause 33.2, sick leave with pay may, at the discretion of the Council, be granted 33.3.1.1 for a period of up to one hundred eighty-seven decimal five (187.5) working hours if the employee is awaiting a decision on an application for injury-on-duty leave, or 33.3.1.2 for periods of up to one hundred twelve decimal five (112.5) working hours if the employee has not submitted an application for injury-on-duty leave, provided that an employee's total sick leave deficit shall not exceed one hundred twelve decimal five (112.5) hours, subject to the deduction of such advanced leave from any sick leave credits subsequently earned, or if an employee resigns any salary overpayment shall be recovered by the Council from the employee by other means. 33.3.2 When an employee is granted sick leave with pay and injury-on-duty leave is subsequently approved for the same period, it shall be considered, for the purpose of the record of sick leave credits, that the employee was not granted sick leave with pay. 33.3.3 If an employee becomes ill during a period of compensatory leave and such illness is supported by a medical certificate, the employee shall be granted sick leave with pay, in accordance with clause 33.2 and the employee’s compensatory leave credits shall be restored to the extent of any concurrent sick leave with pay granted.
