Service and Seniority definition

Service and Seniority means the accumulation of regular hours paid to the nurse or nurse practitioner, and on the basis of one year of service and/or seniority credit for every 1950 regular hours paid for full-time employees, and for every 1750 regular hours paid for regular part-time and casual employees. For purposes of clarification, whenever used in this collective agreement, one year of service, one year of continuous service, or one year of seniority shall equate to 1950 regular hours paid for full-time employees, and to 1750 regular hours paid for regular part-time and casual employees. It is further understood and agreed that the calculation of regular hours paid will be subject to the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and other relevant legislation. Regular paid hours include hours paid on account of sick leave including WSIB, LTD, approved leaves of absence with pay, pregnancy/parental leave, Union leaves of absence, vacation leave, paid holidays, bereavement leave and education leave.

Examples of Service and Seniority in a sentence

  • The Nurse shall continue to accrue Service and Seniority during the leave of absence.

  • While on pregnancy/birth or parental, or adoption leave, a Nurse shall continue to accrue and accumulate Service and Seniority credits at the same rate as before the leave for the duration of the leave and the Nurse’s Service and Seniority shall be deemed to be continuous.

  • Classification Seniority means the length of service in the classification, calculated from the date the employee enters the classification.

  • Bargaining Unit Seniority is defined as the length of continuous service within the bargaining unit since the last date of entry into the bargaining unit.

  • Pro-Vice-Chancellor means the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University;

  • traditional leader means the leader of a traditional authority that had been identified by the MEC in terms of section 81 (2) of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act to participate in the proceedings of the council.

  • School service means a website, mobile application, or online service that (i) is designed and marketed solely for use in elementary or secondary schools; (ii) is used at the direction of teachers or other employees at elementary or secondary schools; and (iii) collects and maintains, uses, or shares student personal information. "School service" does not include a website, mobile application, or online service that is designed and marketed for use by individuals or entities generally, even if it is also marketed for use in elementary or secondary schools.

  • Professional athlete means an athlete who performs services in a professional athletic event for wages or other remuneration.

  • Service Standards means the set of Service Measures, Service Levels, conditions and Service Guarantee Payments as set out in Schedule 1;

  • Home and community-based services or "HCBS" means Home and Community-Based Services as defined in OAR chapter 411, division 004.

  • Adult day services means adult day services as defined in section 231D.1.

  • MEDICAL STAFF LEADER means any Medical Staff Officer, department chair, section chief, and committee chair.

  • Service Planning Team or “SPT” means a team who includes the Individual and/or the Individual’s identified support network, Contractor’s lead administrative staff supporting medical, behavioral and activity oversight called out in this Contract, Contractor’s Administrator or designee and ODHS Designee. The team is responsible for overseeing the Individual’s Service Plan and all other associated plans or services in this Contract.

  • Scope of Services or “Scope of Work” means the work to be performed by the Proposer or Consultant as described in Section 2.0 of this RFP, as amended thereto.

  • Professional sports services contract means an agreement under which an individual is employed, or agrees to render services, as a player on a professional sports team, with a professional sports organization, or as a professional athlete.

  • Professional Sports means a sport, which would remunerate a player in excess of 50% of his or her annual income as a means of their livelihood.

  • Educational Services means educational training provided to Entitled Students at a School;

  • Educational personnel means persons who must meet requirements pursuant to state law as a condition of employment in educational programs.

  • Trainer means a dentist whose name is included in sub-part A of the first part of the dental list who employs a trainee as an assistant in accordance with paragraph 2 of this Determination;

  • Medical Review Officer (MRO means a licensed physician, employed with or contracted with the City, responsible for receiving laboratory results generated by the City's drug testing program who has knowledge of substance abuse disorders, laboratory testing procedures, and chain of custody collection procedures; who verifies positive, confirmed test results, and who has the necessary and appropriate medical training to interpret and evaluate an individual's confirmed positive test result together with his or her medical history and any other relevant biomedical information.

  • Service Area means the geographic area approved by the commissioner within which an issuer is authorized to offer a Medicare Select policy.

  • Clinical nurse specialist means a registered nurse with relevant post-basic qualifications and 12 months’ experience working in the clinical area of his/her specified post-basic qualification, or a minimum of four years’ post-basic registration experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field and who satisfies the local criteria.
