Service and Seniority. Service and seniority are governed by rules and regulations of the State Universities Civil Service System of Illinois and by the provisions of Policy and Rules.
Service and Seniority. While on Pregnancy Leave, Parental Leave or Adoption Leave, an Employee shall continue to accrue and accumulate service and seniority credits at the same rate as before the leave for the duration of the leave and the Employee’s service and seniority shall be deemed to be continuous. However, service accumulated during the Leave shall not be used for the purposes of calculating vacation leave credits.
Service and Seniority. Seniority Establishing Seniority (a) A seniority date shall be established for each employee upon successful completion of the probationary period as defined in Article 5, such date to be coincident with the date of commencement of said probationary period.

Such retention of seniority applies to all job classes during any period of continuous University employment. If an employee fails to satisfactorily complete a probationary period in a new class or is laid off from the class through a reduction in workforce, he/she/they will be returned to a position in a new class or is laid off from the class, or to another job class in which he/she/they holds seniority. If an employee has retreat rights to more than one class, the employee will be offered a position in the class, which has the greatest pay potential, subject to appropriate seniority provisions.
Service and Seniority. While on adoption leave, an Employee shall continue to accrue and accumulate service and seniority credits for the duration of his/her leave, and his/her service and seniority shall be deemed to be continuous. However, service accumulated during adoption leave shall not be used for the purposes of calculating vacation leave credits. Vacation leave credits will be prorated for the period of time the Employee is not on such leave during the vacation year.
Service and Seniority. An employee's length of continuous employment with the County since his/her most recent date of hire as a full-time or part-time employee in a regular budgeted position. Seniority may be defined based on time in the County, Department, bargaining unit or job classification as provided by this Agreement. Vacant and Available Positions – Those regular and funded positions which management has determined will be filled.
