Special Holidays. A Special Holiday is a holiday declared a holiday by the University for its employees, other than a Saturday, Sunday, Statutory Holiday or day declared by the University to be in lieu of a Statutory Holiday.
Special Holidays. Employees serving as institution teachers at times other than during the facility’s academic year shall not lose pay for days which have been declared by the State, as employer, to be special holidays provided such employees were scheduled to work on such days.
Special Holidays. In addition to the above, any day declared by the Mayor as a special holiday shall be observed as a holiday.
Special Holidays. In recognition of the need for members to occasionally work in excess of the work plan guidelines, the University will provide three (3) additional days off during the fiscal year. These days will normally be taken between December 25th and January 1st when the University is closed. Alternate days will be provided if the member is required to work during the Christmas and New Year’s season.
Special Holidays. Any special holidays as designated by the Board of Trustees when College offices are closed for all or part of the day will also be observed as a special holiday under this article and employees will be credited with an additional eight (8) hours of 24/7 leave for each special holiday. This article is only intended for any new holidays approved by the Board of Trustees. This excludes weekends when the College offices are not open. The academic calendar is for student purposes only.
Special Holidays. Any special holiday, as designated by the City, when City offices are closed for all or part of the day, will also be observed as a holiday under this Article. The holidays identified above may be recognized by the City on different dates than those noted above (for employees not in this bargaining unit). Should this occur, these days shall not be considered special holidays.
Special Holidays. Any special holiday, as formally designated as a paid holiday for any City Workers by City Council, when City offices are closed for all or part of the day, will also be observed as a paid holiday under this Article. The mere closing of a facility or City Building for any reason without this specific designation as a special paid holiday does not cause an entitlement to a paid holiday. This paragraph does not apply to specific traditional holidays negotiated and agreed to be recognized as paid holidays between any other collective bargaining unit and the City of Dublin.
Special Holidays. In addition to the recognized holidays listed above, the County may, provided approval is given by the Board of Supervisors, observe as a holiday a day appointed by the President of the United States or the Governor of the State of California for a public fast, thanksgiving or holiday upon which federal and/or state government offices will be closed. Such a holiday will be granted to employees if approved by the Board of Supervisors.
Special Holidays. To the extent required by law, any day appointed by the President or Governor as a day of public fast, thanksgiving, or holiday, shall be a paid holiday for all employees in the bargaining unit.
Special Holidays. Employees who choose to apply their excess sick days to the winter and/or spring break must submit a written request to their supervisor in advance of the break period.
