Annualisation of Allowances. 1. All allowances currently being received will be built into the employee’s ordinary weekly pay and each will be entitled to an equal amount. From the commencement of this process there will be no entitlement for officers to claim any allowances provided for in the LGEAS, other than Live Sewer Work Allowance, Work in the Rain and Clause, Meal Allowance during overtime.

Annualisation of Allowances. The Travel Allowance paid under this Appendix being received will be built into the employee’s ordinary weekly pay. Payment of the all-purpose annualised allowance will negate any obligations that Council may have to pay additional travel allowance contained the BT(PS) Award. On Call – Monday to Sunday Persons to whom this Appendix applies, who are rostered to stand-by for emergency work outside ordinary working hours shall be paid an allowance equivalent to the amount of 5.46% (five point four six percent) of the weekly rate payable under Part 1 of this Agreement. Currently, the “On-Call” rate is $50.69 for each day and/or night during which they remain on call. START ON SITE (SOS) AND MANAGEMENT OF STAFF Staff are to commence and finish work on site or at the Southport depot whichever is considered most appropriate by the Supervisor, taking into account travelling distance and equipment necessary for the job. The Supervisor is to be informed of any leave of absence or change in specified hours of duties. Employees covered by this Appendix shall be required to adhere to the start on site (S.O.S) arrangements. Staff are to commence and finish work on site or at the Depot whichever is considered most appropriate by the Supervisor taking into consideration travelling distance and equipment necessary for the job. The process of starting on site will be reviewed on an annual basis. Council reserves the right to suspend and/or terminate the S.O.S. arrangement for individuals or the entire group subsequent to any breaches or a determination by Council that the arrangement is not effective or workable. Staff must to be aware of the Noise Management Procedure and exercise discretion when commencing work before 7.00am. Starting and finishing times, whether on site or from Southport depot are to be strictly adhered to. Should any support staff require a lift to or from work, then it is to be done in their (the driver’s) own time. EMERGENCY WORK Persons called out on emergency work shall be entitled to payment for such work from the time of leaving home to commence that work until they return home from such work but such payment shall not be less than two (2) hours at double time.

  • Overtime Meal Allowance ‌ An employee who works two and one-half hours of overtime immediately before or following his/her scheduled hours of work shall receive a meal allowance of seven dollars. One-half hour with pay shall be allowed the employee in order that he/she may take a meal break either at or adjacent to his/her place of work.

  • Aid Allowance An employee who has been appointed by the Employer and trained to render first aid and who is the current holder of appropriate first aid qualifications such as a certificate from the St. Xxxx's Ambulance or similar body shall be paid weekly an allowance as detailed in Appendix A. The Employer will always appoint the appropriate number of First Aid Officers as required by relevant legislation and Code of Practice.

  • COST OF LIVING ALLOWANCE 29:01 All employees within the Bargaining Unit shall be paid a cost of living allowance based on the cost of living formula as set forth below: The cost of living allowance will be determined in accordance with changes in the Consumer Price Index, published by Statistics Canada (1961 = 100) and hereinafter referred to as the Consumer Price Index. The base Consumer Price Index shall be the Consumer Price Index for February 2016. The first (1st) cost of living adjustment shall be based on the Consumer Price Index of May, 2016, and each three (3) months thereafter compared to the base Consumer Price Index for February 2016. Cost of living adjustments shall be made on pay periods commencing 11:59 p.m. on the following dates: July 5, 2016; October 11, 2016; January 17, 2017; and April 10, 2017. The cost of living rate adjustment shall be One ($0.01) Cent per hour for each point five (.5) change in the Consumer Price Index. The cost of living allowance will be adjusted up or down if and as required for each quarterly period in accordance with the above mentioned formula, provided, however, that in no event will a decline in the Consumer Price Index below the figure as recorded for February, 2016, minus 2.5 points provide a basis for further reduction in the straight time rates set forth in Schedule "A" of the within Agreement. The amount of cost of living Allowance in effect at any time shall be included in computing vacation pay, holiday pay, call-in pay, sick pay, paid leave of absence and Workplace Safety Insurance Board payments. The amount of cost of living allowance shall be included in computing overtime pay except that there shall be no pyramiding as stated in clause 19:06 of the within Agreement. As of June 30, 2016, the cost of living rate adjustment less Five ($0.05) Cents* will be added to the base rates set forth in Schedule "A" in order to create new base rates - said new base rates to be effective as of July 1, 2016. Upon creation of new base rates as provided in the preceding paragraph, a new base Consumer Price Index shall be established and shall be calculated as being the Consumer Price Index for February 2016 minus 2.5 points. This article shall be frozen during the life of the Collective Agreement and no monies will be generated or paid during the term of the Collective Agreement. *The Five ($0.05) Cents referred to was folded into the Base Hourly Wage Rates noted in Schedule “A” effective July 1, 1986. LETTER OF INTENT REGARDING ABSENTEEISM The University of Windsor and C.U.P.E., Local 1001 recognize that some Employees in the Bargaining Unit are using the Sick Leave Plan for illness and various medical appointments above the normal average within the University staff. The Union believes it is the duty of the Employer to manage the Sick Leave Plan and the Union's duty to represent their members eligible to receive sick pay to the best of their ability. To assist the Employer with their concern over the use of the Plan and to protect the interest of the members against any possible erosion of the existing Plan, the Union agrees to counsel all employees by letter and by presentations at general meetings on the need for regular attendance. Further, the Union will encourage members, whenever possible, to schedule appointments after their shift has concluded or as near to the end of their shift as possible.

  • Benefit Waiting Period Allowance (a) An employee who qualifies for and takes leave pursuant to 21.1 or 21.2 and is required by Employment Insurance to serve a one-week waiting period for Employment Insurance Maternity/Parental benefits, shall be paid a leave allowance equivalent to one week at 85% of the employee's basic pay.

  • EQUALIZATION OF OVERTIME HOURS 211 Overtime hours shall be divided as equally as practicable among employees in the same classification in their district. An up-to-date list showing overtime hours and unit seniority date will be posted in a prominent place in each district before the 15th of each month. -212 Whenever overtime is required, the person with the least number of overtime hours in that classification within the district will, except in necessary emergencies, be called first and so on down the list in an attempt to equalize the overtime hours. After exhausting this procedure and the need still exists, the Employer may require the least senior available, qualified employee to work. The Union reserves the right to grieve what is an emergency. Employees in other classifications may be called if there is a shortage of employees in the classification needed. In such cases they would be called on the basis of least hours of overtime in their classification provided they are capable of doing the work. When employees are notified by telephone, they will be called in order of lowest hours first. -213 For the purpose of this clause, time not worked because the employee was unavailable, or did not choose to work, will be charged the average number of overtime hours of the employees working during that overtime period (2 hour minimum). -214 On July 1 each year, the amount of overtime hours credited to each employee will be reduced equal to the amount of overtime hours credited to the employee at the bottom of the overtime list and only the excess overtime hours for each employee shall be carried forward. -215 An employee who has changed classifications will be charged with the highest number of overtime hours that exist in the new classification on the day he/she was reclassified. -216 When an employee terminates his/her term as Chief Xxxxxxx, President, Xxxxxxx, or Alternate Xxxxxxx, his/her overtime hours shall be disregarded and he/she shall assume the average number of hours in his/her classification in his/her district, unless he/she is currently charged with less than average hours. ARTICLE 44 - LONGEVITY PAY -217 All regular employees of the Employer hired prior to August 19, 1996 shall be entitled to receive longevity pay for length of continuous service with the Employer according to the following rules and schedule of payment. -218 LONGEVITY YEAR The longevity year is defined as the twelve (12) month period beginning October 1 of each year and ending September 30. For longevity payment purposes only, a year of continuous full-time service is defined as any longevity year in which the employee is actively employed for at least 39 calendar weeks (273 calendar days). -219 Longevity pay shall be computed as a percentage of the employee's regular annual base wage. Base wage shall be that wage which an employee is being paid on September 1, 1988, of the calendar year in which the longevity payment is due. The annual base wage shall be equal to the employee's hourly rate times 2080 hours as of the first pay period in September. If an employee is not on the payroll at that time, the hourly rate to be used will be the hourly rate upon his/her return. Base wage shall not include overtime or premium pay. -220 INITIAL ELIGIBILITY The last date of hire as a regular employee will be used as the normal longevity date. To qualify for the first longevity payment, an employee must have completed six (6) years of continuous service as of October 1 of any year. To qualify for initial eligibility, the employee must have been on active employment for at least 39 calendar weeks (273 calendar days) for six (6) consecutive years and an employee on October 1 of that year to receive the longevity payment. Periods of active employment of less than 39 calendar weeks will be counted toward the employee's years of continuous service. -221 CONTINUING ELIGIBILITY After establishing initial eligibility, employees must be actively employed for 39 calendar weeks (273 calendar days) during the longevity year and an employee as of October 1 to receive the longevity payment on December 1. Periods of active employment of less than 39 calendar weeks, while not qualifying the employee for payment of longevity, shall be counted toward the employee's years of continuous service. -222 Payments to employees who are eligible each October 1 will be paid on December

  • Shift Allowance In addition to the wage specified in sub-clause (1), read with sub- clause (12), a normal shift worker shall, in respect of his shift hours worked in any week, be paid an additional 12,5% on such wage.
