Borings Sample Clauses

Borings. 4.2.1 The location and depth of the borings proposed by the Consultant shall be shown on a sketch identified in subparagraph 3.1.1 accompanying this Agreement and listed in Article 9. If the Consultant finds it necessary to change the location or depth of any of these proposed borings, the Owner's Representative shall be notified and a new location or depth agreed upon between the Owner's Representative and the Consultant. 4.2.2 If unusual conditions are encountered, including but not limited to unanticipated materials which cannot be penetrated by standard sampling equipment, the Consultant shall immediately consult with the Owner's Representative. The Consultant shall take measures as required to obtain the necessary information, subject to the Owner's Representative's approval. 4.2.3 The Consultant shall advise the Owner's Representative as to any further exploration and testing required to obtain information that the Consultant requires for a professional interpretation of subsurface conditions at the building site and shall perform such additional work as authorized by the Owner. The extent of exploration undertaken shall be consistent with the scope of the project indicated by the information given above and any drawings attached hereto. Sampling operations for both disturbed and undisturbed samples shall be in accordance with recommended American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standards and other procedures, and as necessary to produce the information required for the Report(s).

BoringsThe Engineer shall incorporate soil boring data sheets prepared, signed, sealed, and dated by the Geotechnical Engineer. The soil boring sheets shall be in accordance with the State’s WINCORE software as can be found on the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) website. The Engineer shall sign, seal and date soil boring sheets to be used in the PS&E package. The preparation of soil boring sheets must be in accordance with a State’s District standards.
Borings a. Type: Borings shall be as necessary to take split-barrel samples in soil, and rock cores in underlying bedrock or boulders as directed by the Inspector.
BoringsAccording to the nature of the soil or rocks, one of the three following borings shall be carried out: a) Alluvial soils

BoringsCONSULTANT shall perform field tests (test pits, borings, geologic reconnaissance or seismic refraction profiles) to collect subsurface information required for foundation design. This shall include locating each boring at the project site; marking out field test locations with paint or other acceptable means for Underground Service Alert notification and for utility location; logging of earth materials; groundwater depth and the depth of refusal or solid rock if either are encountered. Each boring site shall be accurately mapped per Task 2.4.

Borings. ■ The 4-inch diameter passive gas vents require a 12-inch diameter borehole minimum. ■ Hollow stem augers (HSAs) are preferred until auger refusal. In the event of auger refusal, air- rotary may be used. Alternative drilling methods may be proposed but drilling foams/liquids/muds will not be allowed. ■ Samples must be collected from the surface to total depth for inspection and description by a Trihydro geologist. At a minimum, samples can be collected every five feet with a split spoon. ■ A Trihydro geologist will determine when to terminate borings and identify the length and depths of screened intervals. Passive gas vent boring depth is anticipated to be approximately 20-feet below ground surface. The screened interval will be 12 feet in length, but the driller will provide additional solid and perforated pipe and filter pack in the event that shorter or longer screened intervals are required. ■ Each passive gas vent will be constructed with a 12-foot-long section of perforated 4-inch SDR 17 HDPE pipe and a 10- 13-foot-long section of solid 4-inch SDR 17 HDPE pipe. The perforated pipe will have 3/8" diameter drill holes every 3-inches at 120° for the entire perforated length. See enclosed typical well detail. ■ Washed aggregate ½-inch to 1½-inch will be installed between the HDPE perforated pipe and the borehole annulus at least 1-foot above the top of the perforated section. A seal consisting of 6 feet of hydrated bentonite chips or pellets will be placed on top of the washed aggregate extending up to the ground surface. The washed aggregate and seals will be placed so as to prevent voids, bridging, and excessive curvature of the well casing and screen. See enclosed typical well detail. ■ The passive gas vents will be fitted with aluminum turbine ventilators to provide a small vacuum and increase the efficiency of the extraction. Swagelok fittings will be installed to measure the methane content in the vent. ■ Install a 10-foot long 4 2-inch schedule 40 steel pipe behind (opposite side of the road) each passive gas vent HDPE pipe to clamp the HDPE pipe to so that the passive gas vent stays perpendicular. Steel pipe to be installed 5 feet below ground in the bentonite and extend 5 feet above ground. Install two three 6-foot long 6 4-inch schedule 40 steel pipes filled with concrete or precast concrete bollards in front (adjacent the road) each passive gas vent. Steel pipes or precast concrete bollards are to be painted safety yellow and installed 3 feet...
BoringsCONSULTANT shall perform borings to provide sufficient data for responsible design calculations. This will include accurate mapping of each boring site; marking in the field with paint and logging of earth materials, contacts, groundwater and the point of refusal or solid rock.
Borings. Seven roadway borings drilled to a depth of 10 feet are to be performed to determine topsoil and unsuitable soil depths, groundwater and soil conditions for the reconstruction of the existing roadway.
