Break and Lunch Period. Within each four (4) hour period, each employee shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute break period. If an employee's scheduled workday exceeds five (5) hours, the employee shall be entitled to receive a duty-free, unpaid, lunch period of not less than thirty (30) minutes. Employees working 3.5 hours or fewer: 1. Employees who work at least 3.5 hours per day but less than 4.0 hours per day are entitled to a 10 minute break during their shift, without a reduction in pay. 2. Employees who work less than 3.5 hours per day are not entitled to such a break. 3. This break will be scheduled by the employee’s building administrator or department supervisor with flexible timing or may be scheduled by the employee’s supervisor at a specific time determined by, and at the discretion of, the supervisor. If the employee prefers a specific scheduled time rather than a more flexible arrangement, the employee’s building administrator or department supervisor will designate a specific time each day for the 10 minute break to be taken.

If 15 minutes or less of the lunch break or a 15-minute break was interrupted/not received, a LPN/ARN may leave early from their current shift and/or arrive late for their next shift by the same amount of time provided that doing so is pre-approved by their building Principal and that the LPN/ARN is in the office during student contact hours. 4. A LPN/ARN shall schedule regular student-related medications and/or health office visits by students, parents, or guardians outside of scheduled break times whenever possible to minimize interruption occurrences.
Break and Lunch Period. ‌ Each employee shall be granted two (2) breaks per day; one (1) in the morning and one (1) in the afternoon, each of fifteen (15) minutes duration. Field service work may not allow for the ability to access food retailers; thus employees are encouraged to carry lunch and beverages with them.

Break and Lunch Period. EAs who, due to unforeseen events that requires emergency assistance as directed by the building leader/supervisor, are required to work through a paid 15-minute break or unpaid 30-minute lunch break shall be compensated as follows: 1. If the lunch break is interrupted within the first 15 minutes, an EA may resume their 30minute lunch period again after the cause of the interruption has been addressed, modifying their time sheet as necessary and approved by the building leader/supervisor. 2. Present practices of agencies, departments or organizational units with respect to lunch periods during the regular workday shall be continued, provided that each employee shall be allowed at least one-half (½) hour for lunch without pay during each regular day or have the employee’s lunch period considered as time worked if the employee is required to work through the lunch period eats while performing the employee’s regular duties. 3. Ferry Service employees shall be entitled to have their one-half (½) hour lunch periods scheduled between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. When Ferry Service employees are required to remain on duty during that period, they shall be permitted to eat lunch on the job and the time shall be considered time worked for pay and other purposes. 4. When it is reasonably anticipated that overtime will extend for two (2) hours or more, an employee shall be allowed a rest period with pay of fifteen (15) minutes be- tween the end of a regular work schedule and the beginning of the overtime work. If overtime is to continue beyond four (4) hours, an employee shall be allowed a meal period with pay of at least one-half (½) hour after four (4) hours of overtime and an additional meal period with pay of at least one-half (½) hour after each additional four (4) hours of overtime providing the employee will be continuing to work thereafter. After completing four (4) hours of overtime, the employee shall be allowed a rest period with pay of fifteen

  • Break Period All employees working in full time (7 or 7.5 hour) positions shall be permitted a fifteen (15) minute rest period both in the first half and the second half of a shift.

(b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.

  • Retention Period The Engineer shall maintain all books, documents, papers, accounting records and other evidence pertaining to costs incurred and services provided (hereinafter called the Records). The Engineer shall make the records available at its office during the contract period and for seven (7) years from the date of final payment under this contract, until completion of all audits, or until pending litigation has been completely and fully resolved, whichever occurs last.

  • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD Section 1 Work Day For the applicable agreement period, the normal work day will be seven and one-quarter (7 ¼) hours including arrival time fifteen (15) minutes before and departure time (15) minutes after the students’ school day. The normal work day will include uninterrupted prep time. The Building Principal, as authorized by the Superintendent, upon request of a teacher or group of teachers, may waive the requirement to remain fifteen (15) minutes after the school day for a specific day or days. It is recognized; however, that the proper performance of their duties may, on occasion, require these persons to work longer than the normal work day, i.e. for conferences, faculty meetings, department meetings, etc. Therefore, “mandatory meetings will occur two times per month and be no longer than 90 minutes in length, inclusive of the additional 15 minutes beyond the scheduled student school day. A schedule of the meetings will be distributed by June 30th of the previous school year, but may be changed at the discretion of the Principal with 48 hours’ notice.” Teachers will also remain at school after the fifteen (15) minutes described above, during one (1) day each calendar week for such periods of time as is necessary to provide students extra help, and/or to meet with parents or guardians, concerning the progress of their children or wards. No teacher shall be required to work more than a normal seven and one- quarter (7 ¼) hour day, including fifteen (15) minutes before and (15) minutes after the students’ school day, which will include uninterrupted prep time; this provision does not apply to other contractually agreed upon time and meetings. Should state law require a longer instructional day, or more days, the teachers shall work the added time and the parties shall immediately commence impact bargaining on the issue. This article does not purport to cover the arrival and departure time of teachers involved in special assignments. Section 2 Other Personnel Personnel other than classroom teachers will work at their assigned tasks for the length of the regular teachers' work day. The exact daily schedule will be worked out on an individual basis between the Administration and the employee with notification to the Association. Instructional Coaches are required to work an additional five (5) days at their per diem rate, beyond the work year for a total of 189 days. These days will be determined prior to the start of the new school year and at the discretion of the Superintendent and the Chief Academic Officer.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Lunch Breaks The lunch break will consist of a one-half hour (or one hour where scheduled) unpaid break taken mid-way during regular work day. In the event that an employee is required to work during his regular lunch period he shall be allowed a one-half hour lunch period between the hours of ll:30 a.m. and l:00 p.m., otherwise he shall be paid double time for working through said lunch period.
