Transportation Department. When it is decided that the school district will not go into session as a result of unscheduled closing, Transportation Department employees will be paid time worked plus two (2) hours. When the start of a school day is delayed for any reason (i.e. fog), Transportation Department employees will report to work at a time, which will accommodate the delayed start and will be paid for time worked.
Transportation Department. The Transportation Department is defined as any personnel who are assigned to the administrative and/or managerial functions of the Transportation Department to include personnel assigned to Dispatch and Routing.
Transportation Department. Current regularly assigned drivers, including those serving in a probationary status, will be grandfathered into the benefit eligibility provision as outlined in the 2003-2005 Collective Bargaining Agreement for health, dental and term life insurance which stipulates: “regular part-time employees who are regularly employed on a nine (9) or more month basis for twenty (20) or more hours per week shall be eligible to participate”.
Transportation Department. A light weight nylon wind-breaker, sweatshirt, and winter coat will be provided for all bus drivers on a three-year rotation basis and an annual clothing allowance of One Hundred ($100.00) per year. This stipend will be a one time yearly payment to be paid on or before November 1st of each year. The monetary allocation will be used to purchase clothing that is deemed to meet the guidelines established in the employee handbook.
Transportation Department. (1) A System Seniority List will be maintained which will be used to determine the order of the selection of divisions and runs or the extra board in the Transportation Department.
(2) The System Seniority List will be determined from the seniority the employee holds at the division at the time the System Seniority List is established.
(3) Under System Seniority the selection of the division in which an employee will work may be exercised, according to his System Seniority, once each year (note exceptions in paragraph 6 below). At the same time that this selection of division is exercised the employees will pick a run or the extra board in the division so selected. This shall occur the first part of May and shall be completed without delay in order to permit employees not then qualified to perform work so selected to obtain the necessary training to qualify for such work. The effective date on which employees will start to work at the division chosen will be on Sunday following the closing of the Cincinnati Public Schools in June.
(4) For the selection of the division in which an employee will work on the System Seniority basis the Authority will establish a quota of the number of operators required at each division. This quota will be the total number of straight day, straight late, owl, split and skipper runs plus the number of extra operators at the division. A list of the number of each type run and extra operators in the quota at each division shall be posted at all divisions at least one (1) week prior to the beginning of the System Selection. The System Selection will take place at a central location to be announced by bulletin.
(5) Operators choosing to take work for which they are not trained or qualified will be permitted to perform such work after they have qualified. Operators in training for the work so chosen will not receive pay for this training.
(6) If a new division is opened or a division entirely closed, then a reselection on a System Seniority basis will be allowed.
(7) When divisions are consolidated, a division pick in the consolidated division will be held for all the operators in the division thus affected.
(8) In the event the quota of operators at a division is reduced, operators will be furloughed on the system in accordance with their System Seniority and the positions of the operators furloughed will be filled by extra operators from the division so reduced. Transportation Department. Summer bus runs will be posted for one (1) week when feasible.
Transportation Department a. This Article does not apply to those employees classified as drivers in the Transportation Department in their first full year of employment.
Transportation Department. Bus driving jobs that become available during the summer months will be posted and assigned to employees of the Transportation Department in the order of their seniority. Summer bus runs will be posted for one (1) week when feasible. The overtime roster provided in Article XII, Section 6, hereof shall not apply to summer vacation period work.
Transportation Department. Management shall continue to provide and accommodate an on duty thirty (30) minute employee lunch. Employee assignments shall be established to allow for the provision of a thirty (30) minute on duty lunch and breaks in accordance with applicable State and Federal Laws.
Transportation Department a. A minimum of four (4) hours a day shall be given to each regular driver during their regular assigned work year. A minimum of four (4) hours pay shall be guaranteed to any driver assigned a special or field trip on a day school is not in session.
b. On occasions when nine (9) or fewer students are taking a field trip, adult drivers other than bargaining unit members may provide the transportation. However, when a school bus is utilized for such student transportation, the work shall first be made available to unit drivers. If no unit driver accepts the assignment, the District may arrange for qualified drivers in whatever manner it deems appropriate.
c. Bus drivers scheduled for overnight field trips will be compensated as follows:
1) A minimum guarantee of at least twelve (12) hours pay per day which may include the time required to secure the bus. Unless worked, the four (4) hours beyond eight (8) per day shall be compensated at the regular hourly rate of pay. The guaranteed minimum applies to one (1) or more days for the overnight trip, when and where verified.
2) Pay rates:
a) The rate of pay for Monday through Friday, will be the regular hourly pay rate for the first eight (8) hours and unless worked, the four (4) hours beyond eight (8) per day shall be compensated at the regular hourly rate.
b) The rate of pay for overtime is as stated in Article VI of the current Agreement.
3) Room and board expenses will be reimbursed by the District upon presentation of an expense claim with actual receipt.
d. The District shall pay the cost of renewal of a Class A or B school bus driver license and certificate for all school bus drivers. This will not apply to applicants for employment or those just hired who must renew an existing license and certificate in order to be employed.
