Caregivers. UHRL permits approved caregivers to have access to a Resident’s Unit where the Resident needs a caregiver to aid Resident in their personal care or in the care of a family member authorized to live in University Housing with Resident. Prior to allowing access to their Unit, Resident must submit a completed Caregiver Form and include any documentation as may be required by UHRL and receive UHRL approval. Upon approval, UHRL will provide access for approved caregivers who may enter the Building and Unit only during pre-approved days and times except in case of emergency.

Like many people of all racial/ethnic groups AI/AN families want to care for their elders and the elders want to remain in their homes and have family care for them as long as possible.” “Surveys show AI/AN families would like training on how to take care of an older adult, help to coordinate care and navigate the health system, respite care and adult day care to give the caregiver a break, support groups, and more services for their care recipient.”19

Caregivers. (a) Hours authorized by the Employer and worked in excess of twelve (12) hours per work day or two hundred and sixty-four (264) hours per work month are overtime hours. (b) The Employer may designate up to eight (8) hours as sleep time in each shift that are not counted as hours of work when calculating daily or monthly overtime hours. If an Employee works during designated sleep time, the time worked is counted as hours of work and are included when calculating daily and monthly overtime. (c) For Employees working twenty-four (24) hour shift, twelve (12) hours are consider regular hours of work. Regular hours worked in excess of 264 per work month are overtime hours. There is no daily overtime in a 24-hour shift. (d) The rate of one and a half (1.5x) times the applicable basic hourly rate of pay shall be paid for all overtime hours worked.
