Clarification Notes. FACILITY OPERATOR RATES Clarification Notes Regarding the Implementation of Facility Operator Trainee Rates. • Facility Operator Trainee I – JC8 Will be required to successfully complete within 12 months of hiring (1) Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certificate and (2) Written Examinations of the Technical Safety & Standards Association (TSSA) for the Refrigerator Operator Class “B” Certificate. Failure to obtain the above noted qualifications within twelve (12) months from the date of hire will result in termination of employment. Termination for failure to obtain the necessary qualifications within the twelve (12) month period will not be subject to the grievance procedure. In the event the employee was unable to complete the above noted qualifications within the twelve (12) months following hiring due to circumstances beyond the employee’s control, the City reserves the right to extend the twelve (12) month limit in order for an employee to successfully acquire the above noted qualifications. • Facility Operator Trainee II – JC9 Employee must possess the CPO and have successfully passed the written examinations for Refrigeration Operator Class B Certificate. • Facility Operator – JC 10 (Note: JC 11 effective 1st full pay period following ratification of the Memorandum of Settlement by the parties) Employee possesses and is expected to maintain valid CPO Certificate and Refrigeration Operator Class B Certificate. Failure to maintain the requisite qualifications shall result in disciplinary action up to and including discharge. Note: Xx. X. Sarlo: Possesses Class B but not CPO. Clarification Notes. These classifications remain until the current incumbents are no longer employed as Dispenser, Utility, Printer, Fill Compounder, Encaps Tech, or Gel Technician, as the case may be. ** These are the potential new Classifications. Current Printers will not be forced to learn Encapsulation. The current Utility employees will not be forced into the new broader classification of Material Prep but will be included in the classification. The two current Dispensers shall not be forced into the new broader classification of Material Prep but will be included in the classification. The remaining Fill Compounders and Gel Technicians will be part of the new broader classification of Material Prep. If there are insufficient successful applicants for any of the new Classification postings, the Employer may direct the re classification of active employees in the predecessor classifications of up to 50% of the number of incumbents in the predecessor classifications at the time of ratification, in reverse order of seniority. Clarity Note: 50% of the incumbents for Machine Operator is 50% of those working as Encapsulation Operators, not including Printers. If there is still insufficient employees in the new classification, then Article 12 will be utilized.
