Closing of Schools. In the event of the closing of a school(s) or other facilities of school operations by the Superintendent or the Board because of an emergency, when they determine that an emergency exists, the Superintendent shall have the authority to designate which day(s) will be used as replacement workday(s) for workday(s) lost due to the emergency. There will be no additional compensation for the replacement day(s) worked.
Closing of Schools. 19.10.1 When a school is closed, all Educational Support Professionals assigned to that school are declared excessed.
19.10.2 Such Educational Support Professionals have the rights provided in this Article 19, Reduction in Force.
Closing of Schools. When adverse weather conditions prevail which warrant the closing or delayed opening of school(s), the Superintendent or his/her designee shall notify the media by 6:45 a.m. The Superintendent’s first priority shall be to delay the opening of schools, weather and road conditions permitting. In the event that a particular school experiences problems of an emergency nature, including but not limited to the school’s heating system, burst pipe(s), etc., the Superintendent shall make every effort to relocate students and staff to another comparable area or site or shall make every effort to close the school for children and to have the school’s faculty report to an alternate site.
Closing of Schools. When a school, department or program is closed, all employees assigned to that school are considered excessed as per Section 18.6.
Closing of Schools. A. In case of school closing because of inclement weather or other natural causes, administrative personnel assigned at the school will not be required to report for work and will be paid for such absences.
1. In the event of a permanent closure of a secondary, elementary, or middle school, the administrator with the least seniority among all secondary, elementary or middle school administrators will be the first reduced, and the last reduced shall be the first reinstated, provided, however, the senior administrator is qualified. The administrator reduced shall be placed on the District's teachers' seniority list in accordance with his total District seniority, and will be placed in a teaching position in accordance with his status on that seniority list.
2. In the event of the abolishment of a program administered by a non-certified administrator, the least senior administrator among all non-certified administrators shall be the first reduced and the last reduced shall be the first reinstated, provided, however, the senior administrator is qualified.
3. In the event that a program director has accrued seniority in a teaching position, then in the event of the termination of said program or termination of the position, then said administrator shall be placed on the teachers' seniority list in accordance with his total District seniority, and will be placed in a teaching position in accordance with their status on that seniority list.
4. In the event that the position or program of a Special Education Program Director or Curriculum Director is terminated, then said director shall be placed on the seniority list described in B.1, if otherwise qualified. The reduction in force will then occur in accordance with B.1.
Closing of Schools. Employees, except custodians, will not be required to be present to perform assigned duties on an otherwise scheduled work day if all of the schools of the District are officially closed by the Board on account of inclement weather or other emergency. Where, however, one or more school buildings but less than all school buildings of the school district, are closed on account of a mechanical breakdown or other emergency, the employee may nevertheless be required by the Board to report and perform similar duties in another building which has not been closed. Employees called in for emergency situations shall be paid for a minimum of one hour's pay. At the discretion of the Board, additional school days may be scheduled to make up school days lost on account of inclement weather or other emergency.
Closing of Schools. When schools and school offices are officially closed to an employee by reason of the Superintendent having declared an emergency day, which would have the effect of closing school and providing no work that day for that employee, no leave day previously arranged by the employee will be deducted for such day.

Closing of Schools. Nothing in this article shall require the School District to keep schools open in the event of severe inclement weather or when otherwise prevented by act of God.
