Conditions of Residence. In addition to all other rules, conditions and policies applicable to the Student under this Agreement, the Student specifically acknowledges and agrees to abide by the following conditions:
Conditions of Residence. The Licensee agrees to accept and observe the following conditions which are designed to : - ensure the welfare of the Licensee, other residents, the Association’s staff and members of the local community, and - enable the effective management of the Hall in pursuance of the Association’s objectives.
Conditions of Residence a. Room selection times/room assignments are based on date of housing application and space availability.
b. Occupancy begins when the student accepts a key to the assigned room. Only students officially assigned and checked into a specific room may occupy that room.
c. A student may occupy only one bed space in a shared room type, unless they have selected and been charged for a private room buyout. If the room is not a buyout, the student must ensure at all times that the other vacant bed space is clean and prepared for another assigned occupant to move in. In the event that the student takes occupancy of the other bed space or area of the room not assigned to them, the student will be held financially responsible for the buyout rate.
d. Campus Living reserves the right to change, cancel, or consolidate room assignments at any time due to academic ineligibility, discipline/conduct, safety, health, or other administrative reasons.
e. A transfer process exists in the housing portal for a student requesting to make a room or CLC transfer during the period of occupancy. Transfers may be limited due to timing or space availability, and must be approved by Campus Living. Said information is incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth herein.
f. The student agrees to maintain the assigned living unit (including room and shared space in suites/apartments) in a safe manner and in good condition for the entire term of the License Agreement. Furnishings shall not be removed or stored. Public area or lounge furnishings shall not be moved into a student’s living unit. It is the student’s responsibility to restore the living unit to its original condition prior to checkout. Damages beyond reasonable wear will be billed to the student at the time damage occurs or when found upon the student checking out of their living unit.
g. The student becomes responsible and liable for the room key upon check in. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain and keep possession of the room key. When a key is lost or stolen, the student must inform Campus Living immediately. The student will be charged applicable key replacement and/or lock change fees for each time a new key is issued and/or locks are changed. The student is responsible for turning in the key at the time of check out, and if fails to do so, key replacement and/or lock change charges will apply.

a) Registration as USU Student. Student must be a matriculated student of USU throughout the Term. A minimum of six credit hours is required for each of fall and spring semesters to remain eligible to live on campus. A Graduate student may register for less than six credit hours, provided they are registered in a Master or Doctorate program. Students living on campus for summer semester needs to be registered for at least one credit hour.

b. Enable the effective management of the residence in pursuance of the licence agreement and objectives.
8.1 Fire prevention and safety Residents must take reasonable care for their own and others' safety during their time at Queen Xxxxxxxxx’s House. You are expected to read and follow the Fire Safety Regulations and Policy, Codes of Practice and Residential Handbook. A Resident may be fined up to £500 for breaches of the Fire Safety regulation contained within Queen Xxxxxxxxx’s House Resident Disciplinary Procedure.
a. Misuse of fire alarms and firefighting equipment including covering or tampering with smoke and heat detectors is a prosecutable offence under Section 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, including any updates or amendments is available at: xxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx/ukpga/1974/37.
b. Bedroom doors, kitchen doors and other fire check doors must not in any circumstances be propped open as this could pose a serious danger in the event of a fire.
c. Escape routes and fire exit doors must not be obstructed in any way. Personal items must not be left in corridors.
d. Cooking and catering must only be undertaken in the designated kitchen areas. The Resident must never leave cooking unattended. This includes all electronic cooking equipment.
e. In no circumstances should the Resident keep or use cooking equipment such as toasters, kettles, grills, rice cookers or hotplates in any area of the building apart from the kitchen worktops and such equipment will be removed.
f. Deep fat frying and the use of chip pans (including a saucepan full of oil) on cookers is prohibited.
g. The use of lighted candles, xxx sticks, aromatic oil heaters, shisha pipes, cigarettes or any device which has a naked flame is prohibited at Queen Xxxxxxxxx’s House.
h. The use of barbeques within the House or outside communal spaces, is prohibited.
i. The hanging of net curtains or other non-fireproof material is not allowed.
j. The resident must not cover or obstruct heaters. The Resident must not place material or garments on or near a heater or obstruct the air circulation around a heater, for instance by curtains or furniture pushing up against a heater, as this could cause overheating...

We are committed to assist and support your needs, providing a friendly environment for all residents, staff and visitors. You should make sure you familiarise yourself with all the information set out in this document’s terms and conditions., but we particularly want to draw your attention to the below conditions of residence: • Residents must be studying full time at either Royal College of Music, Imperial College London or Royal College of Arts in order to apply for accommodation at Queen Alexandra’s House Association • Residents must fill in all details on the application form and sign where required. • Residents must send over a copy of their acceptance letter with their application form, if this isn’t received the Residence Team will not consider your application. • Residents my return a signed copy of the Licence Agreement along with their application from and University Acceptance Letter, if this isn’t received the Residence Team will not consider your application.
