Days of Observance. Normally, a holiday will be observed on the day on which it falls. However, when a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. Holidays that need to be deferred in order to accommodate the academic year calendar shall be recognized and placed in the period of December 26 through December 31 of each year, in Spring Break, or in another period as designated by the University. In the event the University desires to designate holidays in another period, it shall provide the Union with reasonable advance notice.

Days of Observance. Employees Residing at Beluga Camp All holidays listed in Article 4, Section 4.13 shall be recognized as paid holidays that cover the employees it will be observed that day. Employees pay during holidays shall not be less than the employee’s normal pay for the employee’s regularly assigned work schedule. If a holiday is to be observed during the first three (3) days of the workweek, the employee shall receive twelve (12) hours of holiday pay. If a holiday falls on the fourth (4th) day of the workweek, the employee shall receive four (4) hours of holiday pay.
