Delegates Training Leave. 3.1 Union Delegates will be allowed up to 5 days paid leave per year to attend approved training courses, provided that sufficient notice has been given to the Employer. 3.2 Union delegates shall also be allowed an agreed amount of unpaid time off work for the purpose of attending as a delegate for interstate and overseas visits, to attend school or other forms of training or education organised or endorsed by his/her Union or to work in any capacity under the direction of the Union. Where absences from work are reasonable, they shall be regarded as service for the calculation of annual leave, long service leave or any other purpose.

Delegates Training Leave. Elected union delegates will be allowed up to three (3) days paid leave per annum non cumulative to attend union training courses on delegate skills. Training will be carried out during normal working hours and participants will be paid at their ordinary single time rate of pay for that time. The union will provide the company with at least ten (10) working days written notice for delegates to attend union training.
Delegates Training Leave. United Workers Union delegates will be entitled to up to five days training leave per year with pay to attend courses conducted or provided by the Union which are directed to improving the skills and knowledge of participants in the system of workplace relations. Training content could include, but is not limited to, knowledge about the system of workplace relations, including rights and obligations for employers and employees, and to skills such as communication, negotiation, dispute resolution, grievance handling, bargaining, agreement making, research, equity, discrimination and health and safety. Such leave is subject to the employee giving LACTALIS Australia Ltd not less than four weeksnotice of the date of the commencement of the training course and the period over which the course is to be conducted.
Delegates Training Leave. 7.4.1 A Union delegate or duly elected or appointed Union representative will, upon written application by the Union to the Employer, such application being endorsed by the Union and given to the Employer at least 2 months in advance (or such lesser period as mutually agreed between the Union and the Employer), be granted up to 5 working days’ leave (non- cumulative) on ordinary pay each calendar year to attend courses or seminars conducted by the Union or specific training courses approved and accredited by the Union. The scope, content and level of such courses or seminars will be such as to contribute to a better understanding of industrial relations within the Employer’s operations. 7.4.2 Other courses mutually agreed between the Union and an Employer may be included under clause 7.4.1 7.4.3 Any written application by the Union seeking release of a delegate or representative to attend a course will include details of the type and content of the course to be attended as well as the dates upon which the course is proposed to be conducted. 7.4.4 For the purposes of clause 7.4 "ordinary pay" will mean the ordinary time earnings paid to the employee exclusive of any allowances, penalty rates or travelling time and fares. 7.4.5 The granting of such leave will be subject to the convenience of the Employer so that the operations of the enterprise will not be adversely affected. 7.4.6 In granting such paid leave, the Employer is not responsible for any additional costs except the payment of extra remuneration where relieving arrangements are instituted by the Employer to cover the absence of the employee. 7.4.7 Leave granted to attend such training courses will not incur any additional payment or alternate time off if such course coincides with an employee's day off, or with any other concessional leave. 7.4.8 Such paid leave will not affect other leave granted to employees under this Agreement. 7.4.9 On completion of the course the employee will, upon request, provide to the Employer proof of their attendance at the course. Except in the case of sick leave or other authorised leave, non-attendance at a training course will result in the employee not being paid for such time.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • Industrial Relations Training Leave Union Delegate/Employee Representative shall have access to industrial relations training in accordance with Appendix E hereof.

  • UNION TRAINING LEAVE 46.1 An Employee elected as Union Delegate shall, upon application in writing to the Employer, be granted up to five days paid leave each calendar year to attend relevant Union Delegate courses. Such courses shall be designed and structured with the objective of promoting good industrial relations within the building and construction industry. 46.2 Consultation may take place between the parties in the furtherance of this objective. 46.3 The application for leave shall be given to the Employer in advance of the date of commencement of the course. The application for leave shall contain the following details: (a) The name of the Union Delegate seeking the leave (b) The period of time for which the leave is sought (including course dates and the daily commencing and finishing times); and (c) A general description of the content and structure of the course and the location where the course is to be conducted. 46.4 The Employer shall advise the Union Delegate within seven clear working days (Monday to Friday) of receiving the application as to whether or not the application for leave has been approved. 46.5 The time of taking leave shall be arranged to minimise any adverse effect on the Employer's operations. The onus shall rest with the Employer to demonstrate an inability to grant leave when an eligible Union Delegate is otherwise entitled. 46.6 The Employer shall not be liable for any additional expenses associated with an Employee's attendance at a course other than the payment of ordinary time earnings for such absence. For the purpose of this clause ordinary time earnings shall be defined as the relevant agreement classification rate including, shift work loadings where relevant plus Site Allowance where applicable. 46.7 Leave rights granted in accordance with this clause will not result in additional payment for alternative time off to the extent that the course attended coincides with a Union Delegate's RDO or with any concessional leave. 46.8 A Union Delegate on request by the Employer shall provide proof of their attendance at any course within 7 days. If an Employee fails to provide such proof, the Employer may deduct any amount already paid for attendance from the next week's pay or from any other moneys due to the Union Delegate.

  • Trade Union Training Leave Subject to all qualifications in this clause, an employee appointed or elected as an accredited representative of the union to which he/she belongs will, upon application in writing to the Enterprise, be granted up to 5 days leave with pay each calendar year non-cumulative to attend courses conducted or approved by the Union.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave 18.1 Entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave a) Paid personal leave will be available to an Employee (other than casual Employees) when they are absent due to: (i) personal illness or injury (sick leave); or (ii) for the purposes of caring for an immediate family or household member who is sick and requires the Employee's care and support (carer's leave). b) The amount of personal leave to which an Employee is entitled is as follows: (i) Upon commencement of employment Employees will automatically be credited with 5 days Personal and/or Xxxxx’s leave. After 6 months of employment, the leave will begin to accrue progressively up until it reaches 10 days at the conclusion of 12 months employment. (ii) Once the Employee has completed one year of continuous employment, the Employee shall be credited with a further ten days personal leave entitlement at the beginning of the Employee's second and subsequent year, which subject to clause 18.1(f) hereof, shall commence on the anniversary of engagement. c) In any year unused personal leave accrues. d) An Employee will inform the Company of the Employee's inability to attend for duty, and need to take personal leave, as soon as practicable. e) An Employee shall prove to the Company's satisfaction that the Employee’s Personal/Xxxxx’s leave is/was justified. Such evidence may be a medical practitioner’s certificate, or a statutory declaration. An Employee will not be required to provide such evidence for single days of absence but only where two or more consecutive days of absence are taken. f) If an Employee’s employment is terminated by the Company and is re-engaged within a period of six months, then the Employee's unclaimed balance of sick leave shall continue from the date of re-engagement. In such case the Employee's next year of service will commence after a total of twelve months has been served with that Company excluding the period of interruption in service from the date of commencement of the previous period of employment or the anniversary of the commencement of the previous period of employment, as the case may be. g) Unpaid carer’s leave will be in accordance with the NES. 18.2 Immediate family or household a) The entitlement to use personal leave for the purpose of carer's or compassionate leave is subject to the person being either: (i) a member of the Employee's immediate family; or (ii) a member of the Employees' household. b) The term immediate family includes: (i) a spouse, de facto partner, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of the Employee; or (ii) a child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of a spouse or de facto partner of the Employee.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part-time Nurses who are elected to the College of Nurses to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Nurses who are elected to the RNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Practical Nurses who are elected to the RPNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings.

  • Medical Care Leave An Employee who is unable to make the necessary arrangements for maintenance of personal health care outside of scheduled work time, shall be granted time off with pay. Such time off shall not exceed sixteen (16) working hours per calendar year. Hours in excess of sixteen (16) hours per calendar year shall be deducted from the Employee's sick leave accumulation.

  • Family Care and Medical Leave An unpaid Family Care and Medical Leave shall be granted, to the extent of and subject to the restrictions as set forth below, to an employee who has been employed for at least twelve (12) months and who has served for 130 workdays during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the effective date of the leave. For purposes of this Section, furlough days and days worked during off-basis time shall count as "workdays". Family Care and Medical Leave absences of twenty (20) consecutive working days or less can be granted by the immediate administrator or designee. Leaves of twenty (20) or more consecutive working days can be granted only by submission of a formal leave application to the Personnel Commission.
