Detective Position. A. The assignment of a Patrol Officer to Detective duty or reassignment to the Patrol Division shall be by the Chief of Police. Selection to the Detective Bureau shall be from a list developed from the current Sergeant list, with the first seven (7) interested candidates appearing on such list based on the score received on the examination plus one-quarter (1/4) point for each year of service up to a maximum of four (4) points, and each of such seven (7) employees shall have at least five (5) years of service within the Department. Should a tie exist for purposes of inclusion with the first seven (7), it shall be resolved in favor of the employee who has the earliest date of employment in the Department.
Detective Position. Employees must have at least three (3) years of experience as a road officer to be considered for a detective position.
Detective Position. Council hereby approves the position of Police Detective. The Chief of Police will have the power to appoint a Patrolman or Sergeant to the position of Detective.
Detective Position. A. Must have four (4) years full-time office seniority in a road patrol capacity in the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office.
Detective Position. Effective January 1, 2013 the position of detective shall receive $500.00 above the step the patrolman is currently at. This position is optional and will be appointed upon the recommendation of the chief and approval of the Mayor/Council.
Detective Position. Section 1 The Chief may, at his or her discretion, create and fill a detective position within the bargaining unit. Such position shall be filled for a limited period, shall not be deemed a promotion, and may not be filled at times. Notwithstanding other provisions of this Agreement to the contrary, the following terms and conditions shall apply to the detective position: Section 2 Appointment to the position of detective shall be governed by the following:
Detective Position. The detective position will be a full time investigative position. The detective will conduct criminal investigations under the supervision of the Chief of Police or his designated supervisor for detectives. The investigations will be primarily felony investigations. The position will be assigned by the Chief of Police. The Schedule will consist of a five (5) and two (2) schedule, Monday through Friday. The hours will be flexed to cover investigations. The Detective will receive administrative days prorated to equal that of an Officer working a four (4) and two (2) schedule. The Chief will provide for necessary training for the Detective position. The Detective will be compensated at a rate calculated to be 10% above the highest patrolman’s rate.
