Double Shift. An employee shall not be required to work a double shift without his/her consent.
Double Shift. (DS) is staffed with two operators or two crews (one per shift). The DS rate will apply any calendar day the DS was under hire, including travel. There will be no compensation for a double shift unless a separate operator(s) and or crew(s) is/are ordered in writing for the second shift.
Double Shift. Double shift is defined as being staffed with two operators or two crews (one per shift). IMT personnel at the Section Chief level, or host agency, may authorize a second operator/crew. In order to be compensated for two operators/crews, a resource order is required. It is a rare occasion that an operator or crew is required to work a double shift without rotating personnel. This will not be paid unless authorized in writing by the Incident Commander.
Double Shift. Part-time nurses working less than forty (40) hours per week who work a double shift of sixteen (16) hours shall receive sixty dollars ($60.00) in addition to all other compensation. Part-time nurses working more than eight (8) hours but less than sixteen (16) hours shall receive an hourly proration of the above rate.
Double Shift. On double shifts, the Employer shall employ for the first shift one driver for each piece of equipment selected as provided in Section 3F(2) and for the second shift only drivers obtained through the Employment Office of the Union in the locality where the jobsite operation is situated, if available.
Double Shift a) When required to work a double shift where the total exceeds thirteen (13) hours, either the hour prior to the start of the overtime shift or the hour at the end of the overtime shift shall be given off without loss of pay.
b) An employee who works a second consecutive full shift shall be entitled to the normal rest periods and meal period for the second shift, and shall be provided at the time of the meal period with a hot meal or six dollars ($6.00) if the Hospital is unable to provide the hot meal. Other employees required to work more than two (2) hours overtime on the same day they have worked a full shift shall, after the two (2) hours, receive a half (½) hour paid meal period and shall be provided with a hot meal or six dollars ($6.00) if the Hospital is unable to provide the hot meal.
Double Shift. Part-time nurses working less than forty (40) hours per week who work a double shift of sixteen (16) hours shall be compensated at the rate of time and one-half for the second eight (8) hours. Part-time nurses working more than eight (8) hours but less than sixteen (16) hours shall be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) for all hours beyond eight (8); except part-time nurses scheduled to work a shift greater than eight (8) hours will be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) only for hours worked beyond the scheduled shift. Nurses will not have a scheduled workday reduced in whole or in part to compensate for time which they are ordered to work in excess of another regularly scheduled workday.
Double Shift. Overtime. Double shifting will be offered to part-time employees, then offered to full-time employees as overtime after non-availability of part-time employees, and is for time worked.
Double Shift. In the event a firefighter should be required to or by prior acceptance from the Shift Work List for substitution to another shift made shorthanded because of illness, injury, or vacation, to work two or more consecutive shifts, he shall be allowed a period of one (1) hour between shifts to go home and partake nourishment, and tend to family matters without loss of pay, with the approval of the senior officer in charge of the shift, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld, at regular time and subject to immediate recall.
