Dues/Service Fee. A. Each employee in the Representation Unit hired by the County on or after January 11, 2002, shall, as a condition of continued employment, become a member of OCEA, or pay to OCEA a service fee in an amount not to exceed periodic dues of OCEA for the term of this Memorandum of Understanding.

Dues/Service Fee. A. All individuals of the bargaining unit wishing to join the Faculty Forum shall pay a service fee to the Faculty Forum. This fee will be deducted by the College from faculty salaries, pursuant to written authorization and transmitted to the Faculty Forum as hereinafter provided. Dues/Service Fee. A. The College and the Association agree that the Association’s duties to persons employed in the bargaining unit require that each unit member share the costs associated with the negotiation of and administration of this collective bargaining agreement. Therefore, each person employed in the bargaining unit shall either become a member of the Association and pay dues required of members or agree to pay a service fee t to insure a fair and equitable sharing of the Association's cost of serving as the statutory bargaining agent for all members, including the cost involved in the negotiation and administration of the collective bargaining agreement and the processing of grievances under such agreement in an amount determined by the Association. Membership dues or a service fee will be deducted by the College from salaries, pursuant to written authorization of persons who have agreed to such deductions or who have not responded to a request for election, and transmitted to the Association as hereinafter provided. No member of the unit shall be required to become a member of the Association. Any member of the bargaining unit will, however, have the privilege of membership. In the event that a member of the bargaining unit shall refuse to either join the Association or authorize the payment of the aforementioned service fee in accordance with the provision in paragraph B, the College agrees to terminate the employment of such member. Such termination to be subject to the same review as are terminations of employment for other reasons, it being understood that the joining of the Association or the payment of such service fee shall be a condition of employment by the College. The parties expressly recognize that the failure of any member to comply with the provisions of this Article is good and adequate cause for discharge from employment.
