EXCUSED LEAVE. 1. In each year starting July 1st, full-time custodians shall exercise their discretion in taking up to two (2) days excused leave with pay for those obligations of a personal nature that cannot be met outside those normal work hours during which the employee has professional responsibilities, but in no event will such days be used for personal recreation or outside occupation. In addition, full-time custodians may be granted an additional one (1) day of excused absence with pay for valid reasons subject to these same standards. Requests stating reasons shall be made in writing through their immediate supervisors. The days taken in this Section need not be taken in any particular order.
2. In each year starting July 1st, all other employees may be granted three (3) days of excused absence with pay for valid reasons subject to these same standards. Requests stating reasons shall be made in writing through their immediate supervisor.
3. Except in cases of unforeseen emergency, notices and requests must be submitted in writing to the immediate supervisor or designee at least five school days prior to the excused leave. In emergency cases, satisfactory documentation must be submitted to the immediate supervisor within 5 school days of return to work.
4. There shall be no benefits under this article during the first six months' employment. Upon completion of this probationary period of employment, benefits shall accrue retroactively.
EXCUSED LEAVE. 8.1 Annually, teachers shall exercise their professional discretion in taking up to two (2) days excused leave with pay for those obligations of a personal nature that cannot be met outside those normal school hours during which the employee has professional responsibilities, but in no event will such days be used for personal recreation or outside occupation.
8.2 In addition, teachers may be granted an additional day of excused absence for valid reasons subject to these same standards. Requests stating reasons shall be made in writing through their immediate supervisor. The days in Sections 1 and 2 need not be taken in any particular order.
8.3 Whenever practicable, notice must be submitted in writing to the Superintendent or his/her designee at least seventy-two (72) hours before the absence is to occur.
8.4 If the Superintendent believes the purpose of the leave is not of the nature specified above, then he/she will decline to approve the payment for such leave, but the teacher may take the leave. If the individual teacher contests the Superintendent's decision, he/she may present the matter through the grievance and arbitration procedure.
EXCUSED LEAVE. Annually, administrators shall exercise their professional discretion in taking up to five (5) excused leave days with pay for those obligations of a personal nature. Administrators new to the system will, upon being hired, receive excused leave credit as provided in this Article pro-rated from the day they are, by contract, to report for work within the school system, rounded up to the nearest half-day increment. Full credit will be given if their contract calls for them to report on the first administrator work day. Whenever practicable, notice must be submitted in writing to the Superintendent or the Superintendent’s designee at least seventy-two (72) hours before the absence is to occur. Excused leave may not be used for outside employment. Annually, Administrators may elect to receive a $450 payment for one (1) unused excused day. That excused day cannot be included in determining the base for compensation.
EXCUSED LEAVE. Each year administrators shall receive up to a maximum of four (4) days excused leave with pay for personal reasons such as but not limited to, accidents, court appearances, and passing papers on a home. An administrator must only cite this Article when applying for personal leave. Annually, Administrators may elect to receive a $250 payment for one (1) unused excused day. That excused day cannot be included in determining the base for compensation under Section 1.

EXCUSED LEAVE. An excused unpaid leave for purposes not covered under this agreement may be granted by the Superintendent.
EXCUSED LEAVE. The Company agrees to excuse without pay from Company duty, Union officers or stewards whose services are required for Union work upon request of the Union made in writing at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance; provided, however, that releases of this nature will not exceed thirty (30) working days per calendar year. Permission will not be unreasonably withheld by the Company providing such absences do not impair the efficient operation of the Company.
EXCUSED LEAVE. A. Excused Leave as described in this Article shall be a paid leave.
B. 1. All employees covered by this agreement shall accumulate .058 hours of Excused Leave for each hour of approved work or Excused Leave time (not to exceed 90 hours per year, except full-time, twelve (12) month employees may accumulate 96 hours per year). Excused Leave must be earned before it can be used. Hours billed for Excused Leave shall be equal to an employees normal work day. No additional credit will be added for overtime hours. The employee absent without approval shall lose the hours credit for the pay period where the unexcused absence occurs.
EXCUSED LEAVE. 1. A Paraprofessional may be granted time off with pay to conduct personal business provided such leave is requested and approved twenty-four (24) hours in advance, in writing except in cases of emergency; for legal, household, family or other personal matters which require absence during working hours. Such personal leave shall not exceed three (3) days in any one school year and is not cumulative from year to year. No further explanation for said personal day will be required. Any member of the bargaining unit who works less than a regular five-day week shall have his/her personal leave prorated accordingly. Unused personal days will be added to the Paraprofessional's sick leave.
2. Up to two (2) days for religious holidays, which require the member not to work, will be granted. This request must be made thi1iy days before the holiday or in the first week of school if the holiday falls within thirty days of the opening of school.
EXCUSED LEAVE. Employees must complete their timesheet with full workweek hours (40) specifying the correct type of Leave for any hours not worked. For any Leave to be Excused, the employee must submit the Employee Leave Request Form and receive approval from their supervisor.
