Extended Education Leave a. Upon recommendation of Sheriff an employee may be granted an unpaid leave of absence in excess of one (1) year to attend extended courses at an accredited college or university.

Extended Education Leave. Unpaid, extended educational leave may be available depending upon the needs of the institution. A teacher requesting unpaid educational leave shall present the justification for leave including the beginning and ending dates, in writing to management, at least four months prior to the requested leave date. a. Management may grant such leave contingent upon: i. Relevance of proposed education leave to the needs of the institution and employee in maintaining and enhancing the employee's job skills, with the understanding that preference will be given to; ii. teachers renewing certificates. iii. teachers accepted into graduate programs. iv. Staffing needs, such that several requests for educational leave on the same day(s) shall not leave the institution unable to meet its basic needs. v. If a teacher's certification is in jeopardy because multiple requests for leave have been denied, the institution will guarantee that, prior to the loss of certification, a leave will be granted. vi. The status of teachers on extended leave in regard to placement on the wage scale and other factors related to length of service is not to be reduced because of the absence. Employees on such leave may self-pay insurance premiums during an extended leave. vii. A teacher returning from an extended leave shall be restored to his/her teaching position or to a position of a like nature, seniority, status and pay.
Extended Education Leave. Education leave may be extended up to a total of one hundred and four (104) weeks. Seniority and benefits shall be maintained, but not accrued during the period of the extension.
Extended Education Leave. Extended Educational Leave without pay may be granted by the Employer for periods up to one (1) year. To be eligible for Extended Educational Leave, an Employee must have at least one (1) year full-time service with the Employer. An Employee interested in Extended Educational Leave shall make application, in writing, to the Employer at least three (3) months prior to the date of leave requested.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Said Paid Education Leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the Dependent Contractor’s skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, Unifor and sent by the Company to the following address: Unifor Education Leave Program c/o Unifor 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, XX X0X 0X0 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay for twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary, with said Leave of Absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Dependent Contractors on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.

  • Employment Relations Education Leave Employment Relations Education Leave will be allowed in accordance with the Employment Relations Act.

  • Education Leave If required by the Hospital, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications. Where employees are required by the Hospital to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Hospital shall pay the full costs associated with the courses. Subject to operational requirements, the Hospital will make every reasonable effort to grant requests for necessary changes to an employee's schedule to enable attendance at a recognized up-grading course or seminar related to employment with the Hospital."

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Special Education Teachers Elementary/Secondary Special Education Coordinators shall be compensated for an extended work day in the amount of four thousand dollars ($4,000).

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.

  • Blood Donation Leave Leave shall be granted to employees to donate blood at an onsite and Appointing Authority endorsed program.
