Gender Based Violence. The College distributed Gender Based Violence Action Cards to all staff members. We will liaise with HWU with regard to the Equally Safe in Higher Education Toolkit to ensure a campus wide approach.

Gender Based Violence. The Company agrees to recognize that employees sometimes face situations of violence or abuse in their personal life that may affect their attendance or performance at work. The Company and the Union agree that an employee who is in an abusive or violent situation will be treated with empathy and offered support, rather than be subjected to progressive discipline, provided the absence or performance issues can be linked to the abusive or violent situation. The Company agrees to the foregoing to the point of undue hardship. (a) The Company agrees to grant an employee up to five (5) days of paid leave and up to an additional five (5) days unpaid leave per calendar year, without loss of seniority, to deal with issues related to gender based violence. Notwithstanding the above, the Company also agrees that requests for unpaid leaves of absence submitted by employees in order to deal with issues related to gender based violence shall not be unreasonably denied. (b) Further to the above, the Company agrees that requests for sick leave, vacation, lieu time and any other paid leaves of absence submitted by employees in order for them to deal with issues related to gender-based violence shall not be unreasonably denied. (c) In addition to the time referred to above, the employee will be entitled up to another four (4) months of unpaid leave to be taken at a minimum of one day or more. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied. (d) It is further agreed that privacy and confidentiality should be maintained and the Union and/or Company should not disclose more personal information than is reasonably necessary to protect workers from injury. This means sharing only reasonably necessary information and only with those who need to know. All personal information concerning gender-based violence should be kept confidential and no information should be kept on the employee’s personnel file without their express written permission. (e) It is further agreed that privacy and confidentiality should be maintained, and the Union and/or Company should not disclose more personal information than is reasonably necessary to protect workers from injury. Gender Based Violence. The College is aware of the need to develop a plan around Gender Based Violence (GBV) and work closely with Forth Valley Student Association (FVSA) to ensure a joined up approach. Initial actions in this area of work: The College’s Diversity Coordinator has made links with Forth Valley Rape Crisis. Around the theme of ‘GBV Prevention’, the aim is to deliver sexual violence prevention workshops to students via the Learning Development Workers timetabled slot with non- advanced groups. In terms ofearly intervention’ we delivered Bystander training in January 2019 for FVSA and some class reps. We are aiming to deliver training in tier one GBV awareness and how to respond to disclosures to key College support staff (Learning Development Facilitators, Learning Assistants, Learning Development Workers) in January 2019. We are also exploring with Forth Valley Rape Crisis the possibility of having a support officer based on Falkirk campus one day per week beginning in late 2019. There are currently 17 members within our Board of Management, which comprises of seven females (41%) and ten males (59%). There
Gender Based Violence. The Employer agrees to comply with the requirements set forth in B.C. Employment Standards Act under the Leave Respecting Domestic or Sexual Violence Act.
Gender Based Violence. The joint Gender Based Violence Strategy Group with Glasgow Caledonian, Rape Crisis Scotland and Police Scotland has been meeting since 2016, and works along three work streams:  Research, Survey and Perception;  Analysis and Messaging;  Prevention, Response and Support The strategy group has agreed a definition for GBV; this is included as Appendix 1. The Prevention, Response and Support work stream has an action plan which includes a planned four tier training programme (three of these have been rolled out) and policy development work. An online reporting system for students has been rolled out. Details on the University’s response to GBV are included under Priority One.
Gender Based Violence. The College is an active supporter of the Gender Based Violence campaign and has led and participated in a number of events and development sessions to expand awareness of gender based violence issues and embed the Equally Safe toolkit and good practice approaches. This includes the provision of rape and sexual abuse centre (RASAC) training as a part of our wider RESPECT provision for learners and the rolling out of specialist support training for Student Services and other frontline staff. The College is enacting its GbV strategy and policy guidance for staff and students on preventing and eradicating gender based violence and has clear support and policy guidelines for staff on the identification, management and responses to issues of gender based violence. Gender based violence cards have been issued to all staff, and the toolkit is promoted through comprehensive staff training and awareness raising on a team-by-team basis. This continues to be recognised nationally and the College has worked directly alongside Xxxxx Xxxxxx to share and inform practice. This managed and CPD based approach to the rollout of the GbV toolkit adopted by the College, and promotional materials developed by D&A to support awareness raising, have been adapted for use nationally across the college and university sector. Data systems have been updated to monitor the reporting of gender based violence as an integral part of our student support offering.
