In-School Work Day. 1. The elementary school work day shall be 6 hours and 45 minutes in length. 2. The middle school work day shall be 6 hours and 55 minutes. 3. The high school work day shall be 6 hours and 55 minutes. 4. In addition, from time to time it will be necessary for teachers to remain after the work day or to return in the evening to attend to their responsibilities with regard to student and staff meetings. 5. At the high school the teachers may leave at the end of the student day. Exam days are considered normal school days and teachers will work a full day of 6 hours and 55 minutes. 6. On the day preceding Christmas vacation, winter recess, spring recess, all holidays, and the last day of school, the teachers’ day shall end at the close of the students’ day, provided all responsibilities have been met.

In-School Work Day. The normal in-school workday for Grades K-6 shall end fifteen (15) minutes after the conclusion of the existing (1991-1992) student day. For Grades 7-12, the normal in- school workday shall end ten (10) minutes after the conclusion of the existing (1991- 1992) student day. Teachers will make themselves available during these times to provide assistance to students and/or to arrange for extra help as provided in Paragraph G below. It is understood, however, that on Fridays or days immediately prior to a holiday, teachers may leave five (5) minutes after student dismissal. Teachers shall report to the building at least ten (10) minutes before the beginning of the student day. 1. Mid Term Week - All students in grades 7-12 shall be dismissed at a time to ensure that a minimum legal attendance day is complete (4 hours). Following a normal grade level lunch period, the remainder of the normal school day shall consist of grading and scoring of tests and other professional activities for those staff members not involved in the grading of tests. 2. All students in grades Kindergarten - Grade 6 shall be dismissed at a time to ensure that a minimum legal attendance day is completed (4 hours). Following a normal grade level lunch period, the remainder of the normal school day shall consist of parent conferences and other professional activities. The dates for this activity shall be determined by the Superintendent of Schools. A maximum of four (4) days shall be allowed for each set of activities.
In-School Work Day. The teacher in-school workday shall not exceed seven and one-quarter hours, which shall include a duty free lunch period as guaranteed in this Agreement.
In-School Work Day. 1. The normal in-school work day shall be based on the existing 2007-08 student day. The “in-school work day” defines only the minimum amount of time a teacher is expected to be on-site in a district building. 2. Teachers shall indicate each daily arrival and each daily final departure by initialing the appropriate column on the teachers’ “sign-in” roster. 3. Except as provided for within this article, teachers shall not be required to report for their professional responsibilities earlier than fifteen (15) minutes before the time when students are required to report and shall not be required to remain more than fifteen (15) minutes beyond the close of the student’s school day, except on student early dismissal days when teacher professional activities have been previously scheduled. 4. It is understood, however, that on Fridays or days immediately prior to a holiday, teachers may leave five (5) minutes after students are dismissed. 5. The in-school workday for teacher(s) who are employed on a 4/5ths basis shall be determined on the basis of a thirty-two (32) hour work week. The Superintendent of Schools shall develop a schedule which sets forth the beginning and ending of the work day for each day of the work week; provided, however, that: a. the maximum periods for 4/5ths teachers in secondary schools (i.e., junior and senior high schools) shall be twenty periods, on average, per week b. the maximum teaching sessions for teachers in elementary schools shall be a full morning or afternoon session or four full days. c. the maximum teaching sessions for teachers in upper elementary or middle schools shall be six periods per day. d. Compensation shall be calculated on the basis of 4/5ths of the appropriate step of the salary guide. It is not the Board’s intent to hire teacher(s) for less than on a 4/5ths or a thirty-two (32) hour basis for the sole purpose of not providing health care insurance protection. Nothing, however, will prevent the Board of Education from hiring teacher(s) on a different fractional part- time basis where there exists an educational need thereto.

Related to In-School Work Day

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Normal Work Day The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours and the normal work week shall be forty (40) hours, Monday through Friday, provided however that nothing herein shall be construed as guaranteeing any EMPLOYEE eight (8) hours of work per day or forty (40) hours per week. A single shift shall consist of eight (8) hours of continuous employment, except for unpaid lunch period, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.

  • Compressed Work Week The Company and Union recognize the concept of the compressed work week. It is further understood that the compressed work week conditions will apply only to those departments that are on the compressed work week.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • General Scope of Work The Scope of Work and projected level of effort required for these SERVICES is described in Exhibit “A” attached hereto and by this reference made a part of this AGREEMENT. The General Scope of Work was developed utilizing performance based contracting methodologies.

  • WORK CLOTHING Two sets of cotton drill protective clothing will be issued to all employees, upon request, within two weeks of commencing work with the Company. Employees will be made aware of these entitlements at the time of employment. A set of clothing will consist of either: • Two pairs of overalls; or • Two combination bib and brace; or • Two pairs of long trousers and two long sleeved shirt; or • Work denims at cost no greater than the above three choices • Clothing and footwear will be replaced on a fair wear and tear basis.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.
