IN-SERVICE COURSES. In-service courses are considered a part of the professional growth of the staff. In-service courses approved by the Superintendent will represent a minimum of fifteen (15) class hours.
IN-SERVICE COURSES. 8.2.1 When worthwhile programs or definite District needs for new member knowledge arise, the Association, Administrative Staff, or the Board of Education may bring forth the need. 8.2.2 A determination shall be made by the Association and the District as to how best this new knowledge or information could be presented to the staff members concerned with the new project or undertaking. 8.2.3 The District has the final right to disapprove the offering of any new in-service course. 8.2.4 Members successfully completing District-approved in-service courses will be paid a one- time lump sum amount, based on $20.49 (2014-16) and $20.80 (2016-17) per clock hour in accordance with approved/required in-service course.
IN-SERVICE COURSES. 9.1 The Board and the Association recognize the need for Educators to update their professional skills and the need for professional growth throughout one’s career in education. Both parties also recognize the potential for said growth through in-service education. To facilitate this, both parties agree to create a Professional Development Plan (PDP) Committee consisting of three (3) members appointed by the Board of Education and three (3) members appointed by the President of the Association. This committee shall only be advisory to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education. 9.2 This Committee shall have the following objectives: 9.2.1 To determine those areas in which in-service courses would most benefit our staff and our District. 9.2.2 To investigate resources which might be utilized to provide these courses. 9.2.3 To present the Board and the Association with proposed in-service courses for each school year.
IN-SERVICE COURSES. Salary guide credit will be granted only with prior approval of the Superintendent for "in- service" courses offered by non-degree granting groups and/or institutions outside the Edison School System. Courses sponsored by the Board will carry salary guide credit as indicated in the announcement of such courses.
IN-SERVICE COURSES. 1. It shall be the responsibility of the Superintendent, with the assistance of the LPDC, to recommend in-service courses to the Board. 2. A summary of each Board-sponsored in-service course and a statement of salary guide credit to be awarded shall be submitted to the staff by the Superintendent

IN-SERVICE COURSES. In order to encourage greater perfection of skills, the District will award credit for in-service courses on the following basis: 1. Course must have prior approval as to content and hours by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee. 2. The nurse must present verification from the instructor or college that the course was satisfactorily completed. 3. A lump sum payment will be made as follows: a. The District will pay one-hundred (100) percent of fees for courses offered under the Spencerport Continuing Education program. b. The District will pay up to fifty (50) percent of the SUNY undergraduate tuition fee for an approved undergraduate level course at an approved college. c. The District will pay up to fifty (50) percent of the SUNY graduate tuition fee for an approved graduate level course at an approved college for unit members possessing a Bachelors degree. d. The District will pay one hundred (100) percent of the fee for mandatory training courses as determined by the District. 4. The District shall provide up to $1,800 annually for unit members for conference attendance, seminars and/or the purchase of professional journals and books. It is understood that conferences must receive prior approval by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee. 5. Unit members will be compensated for their time in attendance at workshops outside of their work day if their attendance is mandated by the District. Unit members will not be compensated for their time if they elect to attend a non-mandated workshop or they attend a workshop required to maintain their license.
IN-SERVICE COURSES. 1. District in-service courses that are approved by central administration may be offered to aides and, if attended, credit shall be given on their salary guide. Workshops open to any paraprofessional aides shall be open to all paraprofessional aides. 2. Paraprofessional Aides shall be granted up to $440.00 tuition reimbursement per year. In order to be approved for tuition reimbursement, courses taken by paraprofessionals must be taken through a duly authorized institution of higher learning, accredited and recognized by the State of New Jersey, and the course(s) sought must be related to the job responsibilities of the staff member’s current or foreseeable future assignment. Any paraprofessionals enrolled in a course or program of study that was approved prior to July 1, 2012 shall be permitted to complete such course or program and to receive course credit for guide advancement for same.
IN-SERVICE COURSES. 1. Staff members giving in-service courses at the school will be compensated at a rate of $30 per hour for course time and $15 per hour for mutually agreed upon planning time. Detailed plans for such workshops will be submitted in advance for consideration by the Superintendent. Upon recommendation by the Superintendent and approval by the Board, a contract will be issued.
