Jointly Administered Programs. 1. Promoting Enhanced Working Relationships in Schools and Networks The Federation and the School District agree that they have a shared respon­ sibility to build the capacity for Federation and School District representatives at the school and Network levels to make informed, educationally appropriate decisions. They commit to implement a program of jointly administered, School District­wide professional development for administrators and members of the Federation bargaining units to develop their capacities to participate in school­ based decision­making. Such professional development shall include training in problem solving, dispute resolution and mediation procedures. 2. Partnership to Improve Teacher Quality (a) In order to further their mutual interests in improving the quality of instruction, increasing retention rates, and in order to support teachers’ efforts to deepen their subject knowledge, expand their repertoire of instructional methods, and reflect upon their teaching practice, the School District and the Federation shall cooperatively develop programs of induction, mentoring and continuing professional education as set forth below. (b) At the Network and School District levels, the Federation and the School District shall cooperate to design professional development programs. (c) Annually, the School District shall conduct a needs assessment for the purpose of planning professional development activities for the following school year. The School District will establish the schedule and content for the profes­ sional development activities for the School District that support the needs and activities of the School District. In designing the schedule and content, an orga­ nizational day shall be included in the beginning of the school year and a planning day at the end of the school year. The Federation shall be informed of the content and schedule for professional development in a timely manner.

They commit to implement a program of jointly administered, District-wide pro-fessional development for administrators and members of the Federation bargaining units to develop their capacities to participate in school-based decision-making. The size of the Committee shall be determined by the Principal and the Building Committee, provided however that in addition to the designated representatives the leader of the induction team and mentor(s) assigned to the school may also participate as members of this Committee. (d) Annually, each school-based, Professional Development Committee shall conduct a needs assessment for the purpose of planning professional development activities for the following school year. The Committee will attempt to achieve consensus regarding the schedule and content for the professional development activities for their school that support the needs and activities identified as part of the School Improvement Plan, which both parties agree is a dynamic document. (e) Should a school’s Professional Development Committee be unable to reach consensus as to all professional development activities to be provided at the school level, it shall nevertheless meet and jointly agree upon the schedule and content for professional development activit...

  • HEALTH PROGRAM 3701 Health examinations required by the Employer shall be provided by the Employer and shall be at the expense of the Employer. 3702 Time off without loss of regular pay shall be allowed at a time determined by the Employer for such medical examinations and laboratory tests, provided that these are performed on the Employer’s premises, or at a facility designated by the Employer. 3703 With the approval of the Employer, a nurse may choose to be examined by a physician of her/his own choice, at her/his own expense, as long as the Employer receives a statement as to the fitness of the nurse from the physician. 3704 Time off for medical and dental examinations and/or treatments may be granted and such time off, including necessary travel time, shall be chargeable against accumulated income protection benefits.

  • JOINT LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE The parties agree that they will continue the Joint Labor-Management Committee to discuss matters of mutual interest relating to the employees covered by this Agreement. Topics for the Joint Labor-Management Committee may include, but are not limited to, Professional Development, Incentive Pay, etc. The Committee shall meet quarterly or as mutually agreed by the co-chairs. The President of CWA or designee and the Director of Human Resources or designee shall serve as co-chairs.

  • LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE Section 1. In order to facilitate communication between labor and management, a Labor Management Committee consisting of the Department Head and/or his designated alternate, the Assistant Chief of Police and two (2) Team Managers, and three (3) representatives of the Lincoln Police Union, along with at least one (1) Team Representative, will make up the Labor Management Committee. The Department Head will designate management personnel and the Union shall select Union representatives. Members will serve at the pleasure of the Department Head or Union President, depending upon who the member represents. Members will serve and be replaced on a staggered system (approximately three (3) year limit) depending upon the schedule agreed upon by the Department Head and the Union President. Section 2. Each Team area will be represented by a member of any rank to serve as spokesperson for that area. They will meet at least one week prior to the monthly Labor Management Committee meeting to formulate the common areas of interest and to elect a spokesperson to present the items in writing to the Labor Management Committee. Payment for attending this meeting will be at the discretion of the Department Head. Spokesperson will be chosen on a rotating basis. Team representatives will be picked by a vote of the Team members that they are representing. Section 3. The Labor Management Committee may discuss any area of the Department, with limitation only on those areas already under agreement between the City and the Union. The agenda will be based on the problem areas brought to the attention of the Committee by the Team Representatives and on any area representative members of Labor Management feel need to be discussed. Topics for discussion will be posted on the Union bulletin board and disseminated to Labor Management Committee members at least one (1) week prior to the monthly meeting. Section 4. Membership is subject to change through attrition and elected office, however, a one (1) week notice must be given to the Committee to afford the new member(s) voting privileges. Section 5. Realizing that communication is the key element to the smooth operation of any organization, the Labor Management Committee will xxxxxx an element of cooperation and unity of organizational members, be they labor or management. Section 6. Meetings shall be held at least once per calendar month. Additional meetings may be scheduled by mutual agreement of the Committee and the Department Head. Section 7. A quorum shall consist of two (2) members from labor and two (2) members from management.

  • PAY ADMINISTRATION 43.01 Except as provided in this Article, the Public Service Terms and Conditions of Employment Regulations, and the Regulations Respecting Pay on Reclassification and Conversion as these Regulations exist on the date of the signing of this Agreement governing the application of pay to employees are not affected by this Agreement. 43.02 An employee is entitled to be paid for services rendered at: (a) the pay specified in Appendix A for the classification of the position to which the employee is appointed, if the classification coincides with that prescribed in the employee's document of appointment, or (b) the pay specified in Appendix A for the classification prescribed in the employee's document of appointment, if that classification and the classification of the position to which the employee is appointed do not coincide. (a) The rates of pay set forth in Appendix A shall become effective on the dates specified therein. (b) Where the rates of pay set forth in Appendix “A” have an effective date prior to the date of signing of this Agreement, the following shall apply: (i) “retroactive period” for the purpose of sub-paragraphs (ii) to (iv) means the period from the effective date of the revision up to and including the day before the collective agreement is signed or when an arbitral award is rendered therefore; (ii) a retroactive upward revision in rates of pay shall apply to employees, including initial appointments, former employees or in the case of death, the estates of former employees who were employees in the bargaining unit during the retroactive period; (iii) for promotions, demotions, deployments, transfers or acting situations effective during the retroactive period, the rate of pay shall be recalculated, such that the recalculated rate of pay equals the sum of the rate of pay the employee was previously receiving, plus any retroactive upward revision to that previous rate of pay, plus the same percentage increase, if any, in the rate of pay that the employee received at the time of promotion, demotion, deployment, transfer, or acting situation; (iv) no payment nor notification shall be made pursuant to paragraph 43.03(b) for one dollar ($1.00) or less. 43.04 When an employee is required by the Employer to perform the duties of a higher classification level on an acting basis for a period of at least five (5) consecutive working days, the employee shall be paid acting pay calculated from the date on which the employee commenced to act as if he or she had been appointed to that higher classification level for the period in which he or she acts. When a day designated as a paid holiday occurs during the qualifying period, the holiday shall be considered as a day worked for purposes of the qualifying period.

  • Government Programs The Property is subject to the government programs listed below or on the attached exhibit:

  • Pharmacy Services The Contractor shall establish a network of pharmacies. The Contractor or its PBM must provide at least two (2) pharmacy providers within thirty (30) miles or thirty (30) minutes from a member’s residence in each county, as well as at least two (2) durable medical equipment providers in each county or contiguous county.

  • Labor-Management Cooperation When an Appointing Authority initiates a planning process or management study which is anticipated to result in layoff, the Appointing Authority will meet and confer with the Local Union during the decision planning phase and again during the implementation planning phase. The Appointing Authority and the Local Union shall enter into negotiations regarding a Memoranda of Understanding upon request of either party to modify this Agreement regarding the implementation plans which shall include, but are not limited to, the following: • Length of layoff notice; • Job and retraining opportunities; • Alternative placement methods; • Early retirement options pursuant to M.S. 43A.24, Subd. 2(i); • Bumping/vacancy options for part-time employees to preserve their insurance eligibility or contribution; and • Other methods of mitigating layoff or their effect on employees.
